I get that they make a lot of money off those to offset prices elsewhere but I think that might be the highest controller to console price ratio ever.

[Update 22/04/25] While our initial pixel counts of Street Fighter 6 during the Switch 2 Nintendo Direct reveal pointed to a native 1080p based on limited footage, the more recent Nintendo Treehouse feed shows a scale from a native 960x540 to a 1080p target using an AI upscaling method - with evidence suggesting Nvidia's DLSS based on this footage. Looking back, this 540p upscale appears to be in place in the original Direct footage as well. It's a remarkably clean scale in most shots, with the first few frames following a camera cut being one way to catch the base resolution from its docked mode play. We'll be sure to report back once we have more information.

Wow that sounds easy. I had heard people complaining about target and best buy not handling preorders well.

Right. And considering the preorders started at midnight I was surprised it was available.  BB and Target were out.

so here is my experience:

i was at my computer last night to try and grab a pre-order right when they dropped.

at midnight ET I refreshed target, walmart, and best buy.   
- at best buy it still wasnt' available for preorder
- at walmart i was immediately put "in line"
- at target it was available for preorder

i attempted to buy my preorder via target but the site went to shame really fast.   i tried to check-out and my credit card got rejected.   minutes later my wife came down asking about a fraud alert she received from the credit card company.   i tried to switch to a different card but by then things went from bad to worse.   despite being logged into my account it couldn't remember basic details about my account like my shipping address.  i kept needing to reenter stuff and ever time i clicked order the transaction crashed.   at this point i was reading on era that a lot of the people that did get a pre-order via target (including a confirmation email) were receiving cancelation emails.

all the while i was waiting at walmart and refreshing best buy waiting for pre-orders to go live.   preorders at BB went like about 35 minutes late.  i immediately got put "in line"

at this point i was in-line at walmart for over 30 minutes and figured that their site had probably crashed too.  i figured that there was no chance any preorder were still left.  i was all disheartened and about to go to bed when at the 48 minute mark walmart refreshed and gave me a 10 minute window to pre-order.   i was able to preorder without any technical difficulties and received my confirmation email.

at this point i was still in line at best buy.  i decided to wait another 15 minutes just to see if walmart sent me a cancellation email.   i was kind of hoping best buy would let me pre-order there too.  i figured i could always cancel a pre-order later or find someone in the neighborhood that wanted it later if i ended up with 2.  but i was in best buys line for over 30 minutes at that point and i was tired so i left line and went to bed.


so like, not a great experience but all-in-all not terrible either.   i think i just wish walmart and bestbuy had more end user feedback with respect to the "waiting in line" bit.   something like occasionally updating me with my position in line.   with such a long wait time i really felt like things were broken and hopeless.   that said even with that critique at least their sites worked unlike the flaming pile of dogshit that was target's website...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but it still says arrives by June 5th. Even with mine I feel like I could get an email at some point saying it won't be delivered till like end of June or something since it was almost 12 hours past when it first came available when I grabbed it.

Weird. I don't think so cause I have the shipping option. But maybe it is using my stores that are near me even for the shipping option.
