PS4 doing great. just imagine how big it will be once it gets a price cut and FF15 releases. whats left for PS4 this year in japan that will help boost sales. Persona 5 right? what else?
Star Ocean 5 and a few smaller titles like Yoru No Nai Kuni, Sword Art Online: Lost Song Director's Cut, & Atelier Sophie.

Supposedly Star Ocean 5, Dragon Quest Builders and that Attack on Titan game, those are the 3 still announced for this year that I can see pulling big numbers in Japan on PS4 aside from Persona 5, at least if I'm not forgetting anything. Decent lineup for Japan, combined with the western titles that will be semi big over there like CoD and Battlefront, maybe Fallout, who knows.

Quote from: ethomaz on Sep 09, 2015, 06:25 PMGreat but expected for PS4... the grow YoY is really impressive.

MGSV did solid numbers even with supply issues... about the same than MGSIV.
Can you update your yoy comparison on Vgchartz for ps4 in Japan?

Personally I think the following will give the ps4 it's best boost for the rest of 2015.

Star Oceon 5
Persona 5
Dragon quest builders
Black ops 3
Battlefront

The last one is the first dice game to go next gen exclusive plus star wars is big in Japan so a better than expected boost is (ahem)... expected.

I thought I read that attack on titan is next March or April.  That along with dragon quest heroes 2 are two of the big games for early next year.

Regarding the price in Japan,  Sony should hold out until the next releases and cut the ps4 by $100 around its launch,  preferably sometime before.

It has no competition until then in Japan so might aswell save it until potential trouble arrives.

so i guess the PS4 can still do good numbers for the rest of the year. i imagine of the attack on titan game was good it can do pretty big numbers? i also think persona 5 can help sales quite a lot?

Anyone able to find sales of ps4 and Wii U in japan for launches aligned? Nintendo fans always said ps4 will finish behind wii u. I always said PS4 just needs to sell more on a weekly average than the Wii U sold historically. They would point out that launches aligned wii u > ps4 so my point favored their argument. I'd say wii u launched in the holidays and a year plus a couple months gave wii u two holiday seasons while ps4 would only have one and be in the middle of the summer lull. Wait a couple years and numbers would correct themselves because temporary spikes wouldn't be so prominent or relevant.

Ps4 unlike wii is going to keep on going.  All its biggest games are next year or the year after.

Wii u blew it's load early plus it had 2 holidays by now.

This is the Wii u's peak year and so far in 2015 the ps4 has sold more than twice as much ytd.

People claiming it ain't doing way better and isn't going to end up way better are delusional.

It's a forgone conclusion that the PS4 will surpass the Wii U in Japan. The question is when?

If sales keep up until then it could be FFXV launch week.

I just want to know if ps4 closed the launch aligned gap yet. I already knew before it launched it'd pass wii u. There was no way in hell ps4 was going to sell under 3k a week like WiiU

The PS4 has sold 1.767 million in 76 weeks.
The Wii U sold 1.736 million in its first 76 weeks.

So the launch aligned gap has already been closed a while ago.

Dragons dogma online officially over 1 million downloads in Japan.

Very good start for this ps4/pc game.

So odd to think it came out before Deep Down.

I've heard that Capcom is having problems with the Panta Rhei engine, so maybe that has to do with Deep Down being out of the radar (unless Dragon's Dogma Online is also using it).
