Yeah. If FFXV comes out earlier in the year it won't happen on that week.

Just because I don't feel like making a thread for this, this one seems the most relevant.

7b dollar loss for original xbox.
1b dollar write off RRoD.
2.5b mojang
400m NFL deal.
50m GTA4 dlc.

This is off the top of my head. Really doubt the xbox venture has seen profits. No wonder some investors were so vocal

Mojang now is just pure profit though. Will only take a few years to make back that investment assuming Microsoft doesn't screw things up.

I think the NFL deal has more to do with Microsoft products rather than just the Xbox. The Surface is advertised a lot during NFL gameday.

Would take them like 20 years assuming minecraft continues the way it is which is very unlikely.

This week we get super Mario maker sales.  I'm optimistic and I'll guess wii u hardware 20k for the week.

Minecraft has sold around 20 million copies this past year since Microsoft bought them, all versions combined. Plus there's all the merchandise.

It managed $330 mil revenue in 2013 while having significantly worse sales numbers, so right now it's way higher than that for 2015. Plus Microsoft is branching it out with more video games and even a movie. It'll continue to grow and make more money. 5 years to break even seems plausible to me.

What was the profit in 2013?

Also, Sony published ps3, ps4, and psv versions. That doesn't just go away

Didn't find the number earlier, but $128m. Double what they did in 2012.

Yeah revenue is very high but profit is a lot less. It could break even it's just I see it slowing down in the next few years and therefore taking a lot longer to get to break even.
