WiiU is down 28% YTD in Japan. This is despite it now having all of its big guns out. Last year it had no Mario Kart or Smash.

Sadly Wii U is dead.

It's the dreamcast of our gen. Amazing games but horrible sales.

Along with all of the other "problems" the Wii U has, it just doesn't have enough games releasing for it to keep people engaged with it. I still think it has the best exclusives overall so far but there are too few games dropping in between those great exclusives. I also think Nintendo's refusal to drop the price any further hasn't helped.

That's why you need 3rd party. Neither of the 3 are big enough to support their consoles on their own.

"Hype and marketing" though. It has nothing to do with being the best console out there with the most games.
