Video Game Sales Thread

I love GAF.

And since yesterday the PC GAF community is salt about the 20.2m sales of PS4... the thread was one of the most fun I ever read in GAF... a lot of comments like "No gamez" and others stuffs.

But what make the thread amazing was the best GIF ever made for salt people.

I'm definitely sceptical about some of those numbers.

It's because ars is open about them just being guesses and they show their methedology.

Posts like these are really why I majorly dislike Aquamarine, she is one of the main people fueling the vgchartz hate on Neogaf and it's just extremely irrational. Now I believe that vgchartz's tracking has some major problems, especially in the software department and I'm pretty annoyed about ioi not really being willing to fix them, but you have to accept that his reasoning for waiting with his adjustments was understandable in that situation.

Aquamarine is really just acting like a little kid when it comes to vgchartz.

no, ioi was a moron. His Hw in the territories he said were suppose to accurate turned out to be bunk when real numbers came in. He was the kid acting like his numbers were infallible and claim that sony is being shady

No he didn't, ioi adjusted to what other tracking companies said about MS number immediately, there's a difference, MS hasn't been talking about sellthrough with the X1 in forever.

Even if that's true that doesn't make Aqua obsession with the chertz less pathetic, her obsession with even trying to keep the people on the forum from obtaining her NPD numbers and shame.

No when MS said that Xb1 sales had triples and they'd topped the US for two weeks ioi changed the data to show that instantly

The mininum you expect from VGC is to be accurate with Sony/MS/Nintendo numbers but ioi says he don't believe their numbers (well Sony at least).

Maybe, I don't remember that.

But we should probably stop trying to pass ioi off as deliberately trying to put Xbox in a better light, it's pretty ridiculous, I mean just look at the 360, that thing seems to definitely be undertracked to a degree and if we're really honest then it's actually the Nintendo systems that appear to be overtracked the most (and no I'm also not implying that he's deliberately trying to make Nintendo systems look better), his tracking methods are just pretty inaccurate at times.

But like I said, I'm way more frustrated with his unwillingness to fix glaring software mistakes, Bayo 2 is still majorly overtracked in the US (and therefore WW as well) for example and even though we have NPD leaks from Creamsugar, which I can just assume he trusts for hardware since I doubt he has access to NPD numbers himself, it's still not fixed which means there's still people on that page spouting BS like "if it's not adjusted it has to be true" or "will definitely reach a million" and certain youtubers are even using these numbers for stupid internet arguments. The whole software situation is way more annoying than hardware being off by a couple 100k or something and it's only going to get worse with the growth of digital adoption.

bayonetta 2 overtracked
but mario kart 8 and 3d world are 200k+ undertracked for sure
fifa 15 ps4 I think is undertracked as well
