I haven't seen anyone talking about this, did Sony change pre order policies on the PSN store? On games up for pre order the pages now say "payment required upon purchase". Used to be you could pre order and they'd charge you only a couple of days before release.

PSN pre orders always made you pay up front I thought.

When was the last time you preordered/which region are you in?

EU
I know it was that way in US but not EU. Seems it's also like that here now

So with Amazon having some games 49.99 for us Canadians and also giving 20% pre order discount, I decided to pre order some games...Most of these I will cancel anyways but what the heck if it turns out to be a good game I'll keep it and have it at a reduced price. Heres my haul:

Watch Dogs 2 (Might Cancel)
Tom Clancy's Wildland (Might Cancel)
Battlefield 1 (Will Keep This)
God of War (Will Keep This)
Days Gone (Might Cancel)
For Honor (Might Cancel)
Horizon (Will Keep)
Mafia 3 (Might Cancel)
Dishonored 2 ( Might Cancel)
Spiderman (Might Cancel)
Titanfall 2 ( Still not sure...)

All in all...$749.21 if I keep them all lol. Actual cost without discount is $990 so about $240 in savings. Did I miss anything good to pre order? Not a fan of TLG or GT Sport.
Legend made me remove this. Everybody riot.

You know what I just realised?

Sucker Punch - infamous - open world third person
Guerrila - Horizon Zero Dawn - open world third person
Bend - days gone - open world third person
Naughty Dog - TLOU/ U4 - story driven linear third person
Santa Monica - God Of War - story driven linear third person
Japan studio (ICO team) - TLG - story driven linear third person

Probably forgetting some too

Are Sony pushing their studios to make third person games?

Didn't they only have 2 first person games?

Killzone and Resistance.

GT is first person

Well yeah this is kind of what I mean. A lot of their studios already did third person but now there's even more.

Bend finally get the chance to do their own thing and its pretty much open world the last of us, very similar gameplay.
God of War used to have a fixed camera but now it has a third person camera as well and feels very similar to TLOU too.
Guerrila make a new franchise and its third person open world too, gone from first person shooters.

I'm not saying its a bad thing, I love third person games :D

GT is first person
Nah its third car

Oh if you mean everything is being inspired by TLOU, then definitely.

I hope GOW has static cameras too. They shouldn't just use a boilerplate over the shoulder look for everything.

Most of their games are third person.  And pretty much always have been.
