Finally started Uncharted 3 remastered and I forgot how much I love this game. The banter is hilarious and there's so much more Sully than in 2 :D

Uncharted 3 as a full package isn't that great, especially compared to Uncharted 2, but man does it have a lot of amazing elements!

Loved Uncharted 2.
Uncharted 3 on the other hand, didn't really love it.
At least I didn't love it until the horse part.

Not sure what it was, but I didn't find the gameplay as enjoyable.  Think to some extent they gained complexity at the loss of fun.

The story itself, was not structured well in my opinion.  The pacing to me, felt like the worst in the entire franchise.  Especially the dock part, it just felt like it went on forever.
When Cutter is introduced to the story, I really feel like something is lost.  It just feels like he just randomly becomes part of the story without being introduced.  And to me, it doesn't really feel like you get introduced.  In the first time around, he just seems like some random character who blends in with the bad guys.

I've played Uncharted 2, 10 times, and I still get the urge to play it again.

Uncharted 3, I only played twice, but I practically feel like I forced myself to play it.

Make a list of problems with Uncharted 2, it's pretty hard.
  • Not enough Sully i guess

Make a list of problems with Uncharted 3, it's pretty easy.
  • Not enough Elena
  • Drake always falls through buildings
  • Character designs are weird and wrong
  • Cutter randomly is written out of game
  • Talbot survives being shot cause magic
  • Marlow is forgettable
  • The whole mysticism of their group is just stupid and unexplained. WTF with the gasoline guys randomly showing up on the tower, or the fog snipers at the beginning
  • Scenarios and environments don't mesh, feeling like they were shoehorned to fit with puzzles/mechanics
  • Brutes are literally the same guy just showing up over and over
  • Walking sections are way too slow, especially in the desert. Tons of benefits, but they turn the game into a movie
  • The fire monsters are a let down, being hallucinations only
  • The lead up to the end of the game is incredibly anticlimactic with every realisation decreasing the stakes
  • The reasoning for wanting the water is stupid/poorly explained. Any drug could be dumped in the water supply
  • Drake's emotions feel forced, it's not like him to be so obsessed with treasure. Both 1 and 2 have him wanting to walk away
  • Huge mystical spiders get shrugged off as if they're just an enemy, not unnatural
  • etc., etc., etc.

I'd have to go back and play it again, even though I've played it quite a few times. but I'd put it behind uncharted 2 and a head of uncharted 1. I can't remember a lot of what you're talking about.

Isn't that great? I'd say its pretty amazing tbh... its just made to look not great next to Uncharted 2 and TLOU. Its still one of my favourite games ever.

Pre NDC, the last time I played Uncharted 2 was before Uncharted 3 came out. At the time of 3's release and in the following years, I almost always ranked it above 2.

Yet I guess I just forgot how incredible 2 was. Playing NDC really reminded me that everything in that game was so perfect. When I continued on to 3, I couldn't help but dissect the problems as I played it.

Has anyone else noticed in the last couple days that with every game that is announced as a console debut game etc. on PS4 people are immediately starting to assume NX as the only "logical" other choice for it to come to later? Especially for japanese games? Makes me want the NX to be unveiled and be what exactly nobody wanted and consequently fail just to see all that ridiculous overconfidence fall completely flat.
