Hehe for some reason I took a break in between. Now nearing the end of season 1

I've gone very overboard on TV shows this month.

I've gotten 8 anime TV series, the 2004 Batman tv series, and Supernatural.

Supernatural was basically $50 on Gruv's sale (normally $133+), and it'll be the biggest blu-ray set I've gotten myself, by a good margin too.  A pretty massive 58 disc set.

Casting looks great. While I agree this series was not really needed I am so stoked to see hopefully a really faithful adaptation, but it's also HBO so it may go downhill fast.

Just me or did tlou season 2 kinda suck? Feels like there was so much filler, despite only being 7 episodes.

Also the changes just make no sense. Game Ellie was so much better.

Spoiler for Hidden:
Tv show ellie is all over the place giving me wiplash. Like does she even want to kill Abby? That one scene had her acting as if Joel deserved it.

Hopefully season 3 turns things around.

I haven't watched. The 4k comes out in September.

But that seems to be the general impression. Only two episodes were reviewed particularly positively.

Ouch. Episode 2 and 6 have big og content not from the game, and they got the best reviews.

Yeah it was not as good as I hoped. It was ok, but not nearly as good as season 1. THEY SKIPPED SO MUCH! Or they adapted it in a way that felt weird for the character of Ellie, especially game Ellie.

Spoiler for Hidden:
Like the moment when Dina tells Ellie she's pregnant. The moment was so much better in the game cause it showed how much Ellie wants to kill these people by calling Dina a burden.

Oh also: Finale Spoilers

Spoiler for Hidden:
The Owen/Mel deaths SUUUUCKED. The game did it so much better. They literally had the perfect blueprint for these deaths and they didn't do it.  At least Nora's death was pretty much similar.

Starting my Looney Tunes collecting this week.

the-pi-guy

I just got the first Looney Tunes set today.

It's kind of fascinating all around. A majority of the shorts are from between 1930 and 1969.

On the Plex side, they get divided into years. So for the first time I have something other than Season 1 Episode 1, instead I have Season 1940 Episode 1 and it's a little trippy with my desire to have everything regular....

But the episodes themselves are interesting in a history sense. Even with the 1 set I have, there are a bunch of cartoons from the early 1940's that reference WW2. There is one with a caricature of Hitler and multiple that have Nazis. There's one where there's a Nazi spy, with a swastika in the video preview and it's a little wild to me.

I didn't exactly grow up on Looney Tunes. I saw a number of the shorts growing up, but this was definitely not the side that I've ever seen. It was more the whacky cartoons shorts, rather than the political commentary side.

I was expecting that this would be interesting from a historical point, but it's much moreso than I expected. I just was thinking it would be neat from a cinematography point of view.
