So which studio is next to announce their next game? I am going to say Firesprite or Guerrilla.

No!!! I loved the feel of the resistance franchise, 3 really felt unique. Never finished any of them though.

Was firesprite working on a non vr game before horizon? If not, I assume sony would have canceled vr plans and that could have delayed their next game.

I love guerrilla so I hope horizon 3 is next. Turn it into a full skyrim rpg

Firesprite was working on multiple titles.

A Twisted Metal live service game (canceled last year).

An action shooter live service game
(Canceled 2023 I think)

Some kind of horror title that seems to be ongoing. Recent speculation is that it's Until Dawn 2. Before that, I kind of assumed it was like The Persistence. At best a hybrid VR title.

I haven't seen any strong indication they're working on a VR title.

I still never found an opportunity to play it, but the leadup hype was great. Surprising though that their mock reviews were only in the mid 70s.

BananaKing

It was a mid 70s-80 game. Honestly it had a fantastic story, story telling, characters, atmosphere, graphics, music. These were all 9/10 level. The gunplay was solid. The stealth was bad. The level design was basic and limited, but not bad. It was just very linear.

The mini warewolf fights were bad. The big boss fights were basic but fun and intense.

Yes, the game was short. Fine, we get it. But honestly it wasn't as bad as people made it out to be.

Horizon

Firesprite have been working on project heartbreak (basically UD2 from rumours) since 2021 same as Sumo Digital have been working with Xdev on project carbon.

i agree with all of this.

tbh i really wanted a sequel just because the story and atmosphere was soo great.   i thought the core gunplay was pretty good and that the bad parts of the game (short, too linear, terrible wearwolf fights) was easily fixable in a sequel.

But not partner projects which this is which leads to me believe its an existing IP. Sumo have only worked on existing IP for Sony.

If sackboy's adventure 2 was cancelled i'm going to be pissed.   Probably my most played game this gen.

I didnt read the full article if they are just a support dev or leading projects still. Becaus Xdev is just a support dev, they usually partner help other developers who are leading a project.

Was that ever a thing?

After astrobot I'm not sure they'd care about another sackboy platformer, unless sumo can bump up the critical reception.

no idea.  aka i have no idea was sumo was working on.  i just know that sumo made sackboy so if sumo canceled a project it is a non-0% chance that it was sackboy.  if i find out that what they were working on was sackboy i'm going to be mad that it was canceled.  ...well, madder than some unknown project i mean.

Apparently that Mass Effecty looking game that Sony was working on, was by Deviation Games. So it got cancelled like a year and a half ago.

:'(

So I was wrong Housemarque was next.

Remember Deviation games moved to Sony internally due to the mismanagement so its possible this game has been brought in house with Blundells new studio
