I have 25 days off a year and it doesn't Include any public holidays. I work 4.5 days a week. But I'm not currently in Europe, though they have similar number if days off per year.  Of course it all depends on the country, job, company.

I don't think 40 hour work weeks are "insane". That's a typical work week.

Don't you think the ability to fire anyone for any reason is unjust?

I don't think its abused.  In 20+ years ive seen only 2 people fired and they very deserved it. 

Fireing requires a paperwork tail and the company has to pay unemployment.  So they don't.

What is abused is layoffs.  Soo many times i've seen us "need to go though some unfortunately needed downsizing" in which 10% of people are layed off at the discretion of middle management only to see us immediately go on a hiring spree. 

Clearly it is a workaround for firing someone and in my experience middle managers use it in petty ways against people they have squabbles with.

only counting years with the current employer i'd say this is fairly standard and what my company uses:

0-5 years: 10 days
5-10 years: 15 days
10+ years: 20 days

+ 10 days of company holiday regardless of years of experience.

That's crazy. I've worked only a couple of years in my current role and accrued one day holiday for every year. Right now I have 28 days annual which doesn't count bank holidays. Also we can buy another 5 holidays. 

The amount of time Americans get off for holiday is just crazy and I'd imagine most of the world feels this way.

What do you mean buy holidays? Just ask for a day off with no pto, or like actually pay to not have to show up to work?

i assumed unpaid time off.

technically i can do that too but i think it's pretty frowned upon in america.

Pay for extra days holiday out of my pay. Not sure how much it costs but you have the optional of buying additional leave.

will be interesting to see what sony does if they get to buy them:

remain full multiplat
ps/pc  (take the games away from xbox, don't start support for nintendo)
ps timed exclusive than to PC a year later

it's honestly hard for me to guess.   sony have been trending towards multiplat overall and their PC releases keep getting closer to day-1.   fromsoft has had a few ps exclusives (demon's souls, bloodborne, deracine) but also they have been full multiplat (minus nintendo) for the last 3 games.

Keep elden ring and dark souls multiplat, make a new ip that is exclusive. Worked great for bloodborne.

fromsoft already said no sequels to either are in the works.   a "new IP" that is like 90% the same as the last game is totally on brand for them.

we don't know that.   the rumor was only playstation exclusive so it could have been targeted for ps6.  that's only like 6 years from now so it could easily be a launch title...

Based on Alanah Pearce's leaving video Santa Monica have been working on their new IP for 4 years the same as Naughty Dog. Wonder who will show first.
