For some reason all versions of the last season of Columbo are cropped in NTSC.

Kino is releasing a blu-ray of the last few seasons, and they show up like the right side.

Apparently the DVDs released years ago have the same issue.

As I kid I always wanted widescreen instead of fullscreen. I thought the switch to digital tvs cemented pixel perfect widescreen/near wide screen as the standard.

It's just so odd seeing this is not the case.

lame. always display in the original format. i want to see what was supposed to be seen not some modified version to eliminate black bars.

The second season of house of dragon is pretty lame. I think we're four episodes in yet all this could have happened in one hour.

Plus it's just had some silly stuff that made no sense but the writers wanted fan service of a sort.

Spoiler for Episode 3 spoiler:
Oh yeah the one queen at war with the other queen would totally sneak into the enemy capital to have a private chat, queen to queen, then leave.

Watched the first episode of Attack on Titan yesterday.

I've been kind of worried about watching it.

I struggle watching gruesome stuff.
Spoiler for The Boys:
like the first episode where Robin gets run over by A-Train and basically disintegrates into a puddle of blood. That's really hard for me to watch.

Spoiler for Breaking Bad:
Or like the bathtub scene where a body gets disintegrated, or the head on the tortoise is a little not easy for me to watch.

Attack on Titan is probably the most gruesome anime I've ever watched (at least it's off to a competitive start). It's considered to be one of the best anime series by a lot of people; so I'm curious about watching it. But I think I'm going to have a very hard time.

I have been watching Violet Evergarden on and off. It's a very short anime series of 13 episodes.

I was really enjoying the first half, then I was feeling less enthralled by the next couple of episodes. Then I took like a 2 month break.

I watched another episode yesterday, and I cried like half the episode. It was incredibly heartbreaking.

It's a little funky with Plex having view history. So I can see that I haven't watched a certain show in almost 2 years...

There are a few shows I abandoned just because I forgot about them. Having a continue watching section for everything would be nice.

as a guy that never watched the first season,...

...in some ways that looks really high quality. but in some areas (like custom design, make-up, and at least some of the acting) it looks incredibly low quality. that trailer is not really making me want to jump into the show.

I stopped watching the first season after a few episodes. It's just meh

Terrible considering the cost

Been watching an anime called Your Lie in April.

It's a very good show about a pianist who basically doesn't want to be a pianist. Over simplifying to not spoil anything. The show is very well loved online and I definitely see why.

But also it feels like it could be better. The whole show just constantly feels afraid to have a musical moment. It just feels like the show is constantly coming up with other things.

During the competition for example, you're constantly hearing commentary from judges or audience members. It's like the show is afraid to let you enjoy the music most of the time.

The box art is terrible, but this is supposed to be a great show.

Haha yeah that's some cheap art.

It only got worse. No way am I watching the second season unless all episodes are out and it's declared a huge upgrade.

I don't think a single Disney+ show has had a second season that was better than the first, so I'm glad they didn't even try to fix this one.

Looking forward to Andor season 2 also being a mess. I didn't like the first season as much as everyone else, but I at least liked it.
