Confusion about the disk tray is just super weird to me.

Saw someone asking a few months ago about what direction the disk is supposed to go in. Another one today.

i mean, the confusion is probably about which side is "up".   I've got to admit that when the first imaged of ps5 were shown and it was oriented vertically i wasn't certain which way it would be placed on it's side.  aka disc drive top or bottom.

Yeah but at this point after seeing it horizontal, I don't understand how there can be so much confusion.

how many ps5's can fit on 1 flight?   maybe i'm skewed from the concept of a commercial flight but i can't imagine it being more than 10,000.   times 60 and that is only 600,000 units.  that's not a lot for a quarter unless this is for the USA market only.

They won't just use air freight.

Apparently these planes can carry ~300k lbs/30k packages.

~1.8 million PS5's.

As DerNebel said, they certainly have shipped consoles already.

They are supposed to have 5m by September. This 1.8m is either the last part of the September stock or Oct stock. So might be somewhere between 5 and 6.8m total.

i just have a hard time believing sony can sell that many even at $400.   ...and if they do there is going to be such a massive sales cliff in 2021 that i'm not sure it's worth it.

They're very british/ european style ads.

Yes as you guys said this is enough for about 1.5-2 million consoles.

They will probably be cargo shipping the earlier production to arrive in time, and using trains and things like that to ship to Europe.

If they have made 5 million by end of September, all of that will be shipped normally. The consoles made in October and November can be airshipped out or sold in Asia, while late Nov and Dec production will probably be kept for next year. This does point to 7-8M shipped in 2020 if the 5M by end of this month and 10M by the end of the year is right.

air ship also means that if they sell out in the holiday rush then there will probably be a long gap (around 1-2 months) where shelves won't be restocked at all in early 2021.

Just use a second round of planes. They did the same thing for PS4's launch.
