Quote from: the-Pi-guy on Jun 30, 2016, 09:24 PMBadVR is really (really really really ..... really really) lame.  I tried like an arcade VR type thing a few years ago.  Lame as all heck.  Quite nearly killed all interest I had in any VR.

Saw a GearVR at Best Buy, and even that was 1000x better.  And was pretty much the only reason I was interested enough to order a Rift.

The actual headsets (PSVR, Vive, Rift) are all even better.
My GearVR issue was a problem with software. Just nothing longterm to do for free.

Absolutely.
Pretty much the same on the Rift.  :P

PS4 will track behind PS3 in the next few weeks because it was PS3 holidays...
PS4 will back to track ahead PS3 after September when start the PS4 holidays and ends the PS3 ones...

I guess a small gap in PS4 favor will exists in January until mid of 2007 when starts the PS3 holidays again and PS3 can overtake it again... it is hard to predict because the big RPGs titles drops this holiday for PS4 and could change the things in PS4 favor.
I wish they'd extend the ps4 vs ps3 graph on gaf so we can see what kind of sales the ps4 did after its big spike.

This could be a very good battle.  PS3 back ahead soon. They ps4 opening up a sizable gap over a the next few months before ps3 fights back.

Ps4 will be ahead at the end of 2016 by a margin.  So we'll have the ps3 beasting period vs the ps4 early months of 2017 which should be decent.  Hard to know who ends up on top.

But isn't it great to see the ps4 healthy in Japan?!

Heck yeah!

Industry might be doomed as a whole, but Sony isn't hurting yet.

All right. So.

PS4 easy win for this month. The discounted options on the XB1 were really hit or miss, nothing really all that impressive in terms of changing their stars.

The announcement of the Scorpio has led to some questions, but the fact that it's a Friggin' year and a half away and there's no actual information about it has mostly had customers scratching their heads on the idea more than anything at this point. I haven't had anyone say "Man, I really want to buy an XB1, but with the Scorpio a year and a half away, I just can't do it" yet, as that's pretty much a GAF perspective.

Now the XB1 S is more interesting, because we're taking preorders for it... And it's caused some confusion. There's still no concrete release date for the actual cheaper model, and most people that were initially interested didn't want the 2TB model. There's still more than a few preorders accruing for the 2TB, but those are almost exclusively existing owners, planning on trading in their existing models.

I'll be interested to see how it pans out, with it being a more expensive launch model. It hasn't seemed to tank core system interest just yet.

XBOX ONE S is selling to the hardcore current owners. We weren't fanboys for thinking that, yay!

Question becomes, will XBOX beat PS4 in August NPD? It definitely looks like a victory on Amazon, but maybe these buyers are less likely to preorder elsewhere.

It will do. I think the better question is how much will XB1 win by

Virtual tie but the drill will still think the xbox is gaining on the ps4 and on the way of passing it globally in the us

Didn't the Drill admit at some point that he was just trolling the whole time, for which he was then permabanned?

The months after launch will tell the real story.
