I don't know what it is about Baba is You but I hardly get a sense of achievement after completing each level. I've 100% the first 3 zones and completed 5 zones but can't remember having a great feeling of achievement as I would with other puzzle games. I really like the game and it's a really clever so I can't work out why ???
I had a similar feeling. Stopped me from doing all the extra stuff, but maybe I'll go back.

In my case I think it's just the same issue I have with most sokoban games. Some levels let me feel clever but so many levels just feel like I'm exhausting the possibility space. Solving the puzzle feels too much like work instead of play.

Major Nelson and Phil Spencer always came across as fake to me. They say what Xbox gamers want to hear and are successful at it. I just don't buy their "we are gamers like you" bs and everything they do is for the gamers first while every move they make is to maximise their profits and destroy competition.
Phil Spencer does play games at least.

But he doesn't seem as passionate about games in the way that Shuhei Yoshida was. Like there are pictures of Shuhei checking out Nintendo demos and he has a Nintendo Switch.

I feel like there's a scale between Jim Ryan who doesn't play games and Shuhei who plays a lot.

Phil seems to be in the middle.

Fair.  I hadn't thought of it this way before but i think swordfish is right in saying it is part puzzler part walking sim.

I didn't watch the video but I'm surprised to hear you didn't like it legend.  as a fellow puzzle fanatic I figured you least liked it.

not my favorite.  specifically I could have done without the quasi-horror bits.  all in all it was pretty good though.
I enjoyed things about it but as this youtube video put it, so many of the puzzles aren't really puzzles. So much of the joy of the experience comes from the visual gags, narrative, and interacting with the puzzle mechanics, not from aha moments.

In my case though I didn't care for the story so overall it was just kinda meh.

Maybe Life is strange counts. I had been binging it for a few days with pretty much nothing else going on. Was just a cool game.

Well I was talking with people in real life and didn't get the response I expected, so I instinctively moved my arm to rewind time. Was pretty funny that my brain thought for just a moment that it could actually rewind time.

Also interesting that I moved my arm in a similar way to the character in the game. I had only pressed buttons in the game yet my brain moved my arm as a reflex.

Does anyone else have these moments where a song or a movie or a book or something hit you in a weird way?

It doesn't have to be a good movie/book/whatever.  Like a weird movie that makes you question reality for a few hours.

I get what the reviewer is saying. I found the game a little challenging in places and finding all the hidden blueprints, chess pieces and star rooms to be quite hard.  I'd describe is as a puzzler but a lot of the game could be seen as a walking sim. Either way, I really enjoyed the game.
