Crikey! The top 4 are all PS4! When does Halo arrive again?

Xevross

Black Ops 3 PS4 got ten points on COMG today. Ten. One zero. Wowzas.

Monster Hunter got 36 but ... ya know... that's Monster Hunter

Amazon October week 4 (Halo week)

PS4 NDC bundle: #11
XBO Kinect bundle: #14
PS4 Star Wars LE bundle: #24
PS4 COD bundle: #25
XBO Halo 5 bundle: #28
XBO Gears bundle: #45
PS4 Star Wars bundle: #60
XBO Madden bundle: #67
XBO Forza bundle: #81
XBO Fallout bundle: #92
XBO 1TB Holiday bundle: #93

Add in the Halo pre orders and that is a very, very strong Xb1 victory... but is it enough to overhaul that price cut effect? NPD can't come soon enough!

God dang, those PS4 bundles for November have so many pre orders built up

The best selling halo 5 bundle!

Quote from: Xevross on Nov 01, 2015, 11:20 PMHalo is infinitely times more popular on xbox one than on any other platform!

Hey guys... what if MS win? Will they be shouting it from the rooftops as loud and for as long as possible?
I bet Microsoft will be relatively humble about the October win if it happens.

They'll try to push it all towards Halo. That way when PS4 beats them in Nov, they can still just keep talking bout Halo.

Since MS has now moved away from giving hardware numbers in their financials I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to not talk about hardware during NPD either and instead give out something like "busiest Xbox live month ever".

Quote from: Xevross on Nov 01, 2015, 02:27 PMSomething like 4-1? Did you try and work that out or did you just look at it and guess? Because its actually 6.8-1! ;D

Surprised at the mad max ratio (3.2-1), I thought it would have been closer to 1-1 considering more PS4 owners were spending their money on MGS that week
No I meant total software is like 4-1. But yeah mgs5 dominating on ps4.

It's all well and good Sony selling more consoles but the big win is that every ps4 they sell brings in a lot more profit than xbox.  software sales are crazy high.  I'd imagine a lot of x1 owners own a ps4 and buy their multiplatform games on it.

"Halo 5 sold 2m more on X1 than any other platform."

UK sales are in and it looks like halo 5 only sold around 150k. That's actually terrible by the series standard.

If that decline is representative of the rest of the world halo is not looking at its normal insane first week numbers.

MCC sold 100k in the UK and this beat it by only 50%. I guess people were tight when they said most halo fans got their x1 for the MCC.

Would explain why MS are so tight lipped about sales.

DerNebel

Halo 5 launch week estimates for the UK put it at 50% higher than the MCC, so about 150k. This is where this puts the game in comparison to the rest of the series according to Gaf:

Code:
[Week 11, 2002] HALO: COMBAT EVOLVED (MICROSOFT) -
 [Week 46, 2004] HALO 2 (MICROSOFT) - 260,000 / NEW (85%)
 [Week 39, 2007] HALO 3 (MICROSOFT) - 370,000 / NEW (90%)
 [Week 09, 2009] HALO WARS (MICROSOFT) - 65,000 / NEW (90%)
 [Week 39, 2009] HALO 3: ODST (MICROSOFT) - 212,000 / NEW (90%)
 [Week 37, 2010] HALO: REACH (MICROSOFT) - 390,000 / NEW (90%)
[Week 46, 2011] HALO: COMBAT EVOLVED ANNIVERSARY -
 [Week 45, 2012] HALO 4 (MICROSOFT) - Slightly over 332,000 / NEW (90%)
 [Week 46, 2014] HALO: THE MASTER CHIEF COLLECTION (MICROSOFT) - Between 80,000 and 105,000 / NEW (95%)
 [Week 44, 2015] HALO 5: GUARDIANS (MICROSOFT) -

Edit: I'm honestly shocked at how low this is compared to past entries, I expected like 3 mil first week WW for this a couple weeks ago, but looking at this UK performance I don't see how this should happen as the US would have to pick up a pretty large amount of slack (other European countries likely didn't perform better than past Halo entries either) for that to work out.

Thats a giant dog flop for a Halo mainline game!  :o

for any title 150k is great. for a halo game its a massive drop. i wonder if sales will drop for the series like this else where.

No worries, the game sold 90% digitally...

Your mad if you think digital isn't drastically outselling physical. I can name one person out of a friendship group of 10 people who bought Halo 5 physically rather than digital. That's 10/90% split in physical/digital in my friendship group. I'd say it's a similar story in a lot of other peoples. Also:http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...-by-50-percent

With digital only account for at most 20% this would still be the lowest selling title.  I am not that surprised. I mean the Xbox One is not doing as well as PS4, people didn't like Halo 4, I don#t think Halo has the same mindshare anymore and I don#t think the buggy release of MCC helped either.

Cover 20%? Your mad.

ethomaz

Flop.

Halo 5 did flopped in UK at ~£35 (cheaper than big releases).

150k is just painfull low to Halo in UK even with a bigger userbase than Halo 3.

It is lower than HALO 3: ODST launch.
