Ps4 Japan sales for the next 2 weeks will be interesting.  It increased this week to my surprise.  I wonder if it can hold or increase next week either?  

Because the week after that it's OBON and should increase that week.  That will have gotten it to within 2-3 weeks of MGS5 so hopefully the hype from that can carry the sales for another month to around half way through September.  

Anyone know the likely release dates for Persona 5, star Oceon 5 and dragon quest builders in Japan?

We shouldn't compare it to mgs4 though because ps4 ratios have been really good and mgs4 ratio was bad.  

Today it gained 8 points.  4 on ps3 and 4 on ps4. If reviews are stellar I believe it will sell very well and the ps4 should get a boost similar if not bigger than dragon quest heroes gave it.  

Considering sales are currently close to 20k, if ps4 can keep that up for another 2 weeks I've no doubt mgs5 will keep its average high until October.  At which point you'd hope Persona 5 and star Oceon 5 wouldn't be too far away.  

My prediction would be opening week sales:

So mgs4 = 475k
I reckon mgs5 = 400k
Consider the ps4 & ps3 will have digital sales of 10% plus that mgs4 didn't have.  

Breakdown: Ps4 250k,  ps3 150k

Potential for better legs if reviews are good considering the game should appeal to the mainstream more.

Yeah the ratio will be high, I just hope it starts to pick up steam. 8 points is very good, I hope it keeps it up. I think it'll do more than 300k but I don't think PS4 will be boosted near the 77k that PS3 got with MGS4. I was hoping for 50k+ but starting to doubt that. I guess we shall see, in time.

I think more like 260-280k on PS4 and 100-120k on PS3

RARE SIGHTING

Released on Tuesday 'Rare Replay' enters the chart at No1 - the first Xbox One exclusive title ever to achieve this feat (as Titanfall was also available on PC at launch).

It is also the first Rare developed title to reach No1 since Banjo-Kazooie on N64 back in 1998 and is the first entirely budget priced All Formats No1 since Wii Fit Plus back in W45 2009. It does not have much competition this week with no other new releases of note to give it a run for its money. Sales of 'Lego Jurassic World' drop by 21% as it falls to No2 with 'Batman Arkham Knight' (-22%) also down by a similar margin, slipping one place to No3. 'The Elder Scrolls Online' (-8%) climbs two places to No4 on the tail end of last week's promotion, pushing it ahead of 'Grand Theft Auto V' (-22%) which slides two places to No5. EA titles 'FIFA 15' and 'Battlefield Hardline' both see sales drops of 25% at No's 6 and 7 respectively. No1 two weeks ago, 'Rory McIlroy PGA Tour' (-42%) drops another four places, down to No8, ahead of another sports title 'F1 2015' (-40%) at No9. The Top 10 is rounded off by the evergreen 'Minecraft: Xbox Edition' (-7%) which bounces back into the Top 10 again, up two places to No10.
