I love how journalists love to give XB1 way too much of a chance lol. This never happened last gen when sales were much closer.

Like I said multiple times on here, VGC, and GAF, Gamestop's deal was what allowed the XBO to edge the PS4 in April. However, since that deal was no longer in effect in May, the XBO didn't get that boost.

two weeks without updates now since the big sales update on vgc and they're over 2months behind again.

Well, I stopped being interested in VGC's numbers way before it started to fall behind. I remember Aquamarine breaking down NPD's methodology vs. VGC's and her assessment confirmed my skepticism of VGC's numbers. Too bad I didn't bookmark her post in GAF or otherwise I can show it to you.

I thought it was fun to look at the numbers, but I always knew they weren't that accurate

All I remember is that it's somewhere in one of the NPD threads, which go for hundreds of posts. Hopefully, Aqua doesn't have an extensive post history so I can find that post more easily.

Good thing we have Abdiel for Best Buy assessments. If the PS4 wins in Best Buy, it basically wins in all other retailers. I also expect the PS4 getting these types of deals until it gets an official price cut (which I expect to be by $100).

PS4 got the deal in Feb.
Xbox One got in Feb, Mar, April, May (5 days) and now June.

Only way XB1 can keep close with PS4 in the US is by being cheaper than it by a significant margin.

And it is only a temporary solution. It's going to reach a point where MS has no more room to make such drastic price cuts or deals. At that point, what can they do?
