Even if that's the case there'd still be tons of stuff that wouldn't have to be thrown away because of the change, things like work on character models or game mechanics, changing the story doesn't mean they have to change the settings so assets certainly wouldn't have to be thrown out either, whole levels could be kept in tact, I mean what they showed at PSX 2014 could have easily been reworked with the brother wanting to kill Drake in mind. And of course the work on the multiplayer would be largely unaffected as well.

source?

i doubt they scrapped everything they did with the engine, multiplayer, setpieces, gameplay, animations, level design and general place and idea of the story. the teaser trailer hinted at being set in Madagascar, which turned out to be true. the voice in the tease was nates brother, todd stashwick said he was supposed to be his brother.

i have no doubt the detailed of the story changed. but the general setting and place seem to remain the same. and in no way would they scrap all the work they did with the gameplay. the mocap was scrapped. but nolan north said it was just TLoU guys (bruce and niel) just putting in their own version of the game. he said it was 8 months of mo cap. that doesnt sound like scrap to me.

8 months of mocap scrapped isn't scrap?  Or am I misunderstanding you?

Also the game was in very rough shape when they showed it off.  It looks almost next gen better now. Did they scrap a lot of the tech?  Probably not, but who knows what changed.  What they showed off more recently seems more coherent from a level design stand point.  What they showed off initially literally looks like it was thrown together.  They probably had to do a lot of work from then to now.

Got 100 quid psn vouchers for Xmas.  I've all my preorders paid off until next summer so this will go a long way!

Also had loads of the younger cousins over for Christmas and they all played their usual fifa fun.  I suggested they tried rocket league and they actually loved it.  Didn't have much time to play before they went but it was a blast.

im saying that just because they restarted mocap, doesnt mean they started from scratch.

i have to disagree with that, it didnt look rough. yes, it looked like an unfinished product, but it looked fantastic to me.

@bolded: well of course they did :P

Yeah, I unfortunately missed the sale on Amazon, so Play-Asia's deal was the next best one.

Japanese creators on 2016: Level-5 teases popular series sequel, CyberConnect2 has anniversary surprises, more - Gematsu

Quote from: SCE Japan Studio"Japan Studio Producer Teruyuki Toriyama (Bloodborne): "I will try my best to deliver an ambitious title in 2016, so please support SCE Japan Studio from now on."
Looks like we'll get another Japan Studio game other than Gravity Rush Remastered, The Last Guardian, and Gravity Rush 2.

Quote from: Level-5"President Akihiro Hino (Yo-kai Watch, Ni no Kuni, etc.): "Level-5 is always thinking of and proposing new things to the world. I can't let out the details yet, but in 2016 too we have all new ideas and various new titles to announce. Among them, there is also a sequel to a very popular series."

Sounds like this is JRPG #2 from Level-5 Verendus was talking about.

Have to say FFType-0 HD's grind is hell as most RPGs are usually are ;p

But cant decide which is worse - the voice acting or the animations/expressions of the characters l0l

I don't see any reason to believe that those comments are limited to PS, so that Level 5 comment could be about a game for anything.

Yeah. Level 5 does a lot of work with Nintendo and unfortunately the phrase "sequel to a popular franchise" could mean anything. They have several popular franchises. The only things that we have that could point to this being another PS4 title is what Verendus claimed as well as a Japan Studio producer claiming an ambitious title for 2016. Level 5 often works with Japan Studio when making PlayStation exclusive titles. That's not solid enough, though.

To those that played DA:I

Without spoilers, for a "good"-ish type of character does it make more sense to side with the mages or the templars?

I usually go mages because I've always sided with mages. I think most would agree that the "good" thing to do is side with the mages. Gameplay wise all it does is change the mission you'll do. Templar one is slightly harder.

Rorono

I was already at Redcliff pondering going with the mages..I'll do that then.
I'll leave the templars for a slightly Eviler 2nd play through
