Cory has mentioned that there would have been more things had the budget demanded it.

Spoiler for Hidden:

Like he wanted more chaos during the big middle scene of the game.  Where we would see more enemies fighting along the sidelines.

I understand time constraints, but it almost feels weird to think about a major AAA studio having to cut all kinds of things.

I know this happens constantly.  In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if there were nearly 0 games that turned out exactly how they were planned.

But still it's weird to think about.

it's not like GoW didn't have a ton of other content though.  i agree that another 2 boss fights would have been great but there was just Soo much awesome packed into that game I can't say I ended feeling like I didn't get what I payed for.

Honestly the game was good for boss fights as well, people just had way too high standards. The Stranger is the best boss fight ever in terms of cinematics and general awesomeness. The dragon boss was epic, Magni and Modi was a good fight, the final boss fight was fantastic. Those were all extremely good and unique to one another.

Then there's the two sets: Valkyries and trolls. Both are amazing in their core design and mix it up with each one you fight, with some being very memorable and unique (Helheim bridge keeper and Valkyrie Queen).

So that's kind of 6 very unique boss types with 2 of those having lots of variants. Then there's some minibosses like the Alfheim one.

God of War 3 just set the bar so high. This game for being so grounded with its story and style of camera, the bosses are actually incredible. It's really not a complaint I have. More bosses would obviously be a great bonus, but the game did very well here.

I pretty much wholeheartedly agree with you but I want to argue on one point: magni and modi was only okay.  I was pretty underwhelmed with that fight even while I was playing it.

the rest were amazing and the valkyrie were too.  I'd even say the dragon side bosses were pretty great.  the trolls were fine but could have been better,.. far too easy to kill at a distance.

I could have done with more epic fights after gow3, but it really wouldn't have fit the feel. Last fight was giant but kratos never acted op.

1. i assume epic boss fights was much easier to do in GoW 3 with the locked camera angles than in GoW.

2. GoW started with kratos in hidding.  i kind of assumed the minimal number of big boss fights was a bit of a design choice so that the inevitable sequel had room to "rise".  you don't want to peak too early and GoW was both amazing while also having room to grow.

Gow 2018 also did a great job of making Kratos struggle. GOW 3 could only do it while putting someone else in danger that you cared about.

I really need to replay both GoW 3 and GoW 2018.  some of the best games made and it's been too long.  really want that ps5 though,.. I've been playing small indies lately kind of by choice since those won't benefit from being played on ps5 as much.

nice.  i was intended to buy that some day.  it's still fairly expensive even on sale so that's a pretty nice ps+ release.

I'm excited for Returnal. I know it's just going to be a shooty rouglite but the trailers are teasing a lot more story than I expected.

I know I keep saying but I'm so bummed about it's £70 price tag. I'm really digging this game and I want to play it so bad.

i'm in no position to buy this day-1 and i wouldn't even if it could...

...but this title has done a much better job at justifying a $70 price tag than destruction all-stars did.  i think it looks fantastic.   i'll still wait for a sale but i can see this being quite good.

That's not a denial, Kena on PS Plus would be so amazing.

If I was to bet I would say its not happening though.
