http://www.neowin.net/news/round-2-with-hololens-a-bright-future-ahead-a-narrow-field-of-view-today

my problem with this article is when they do finally fix the field of view issue (which is a big issue), then what?  am i gonna keep dropping balls in the underworld for the rest of my life? sure, the TV is a neat trick, but one that can be done on a cellphone or tablet. 3d modeling is ughh... if your gonna do a detailed model, you arent gonna go around doing it in hololens for hours upon end, its way too tiring, a mouse and PC are much, much more accurate as well. they showed the minecraft world around you, ok, cool, but then what? how is the game played?

like everything that uses AR before, the novelty will run its course, and quite quickly.

Probably not that bad for raw parts. Cheap proccessing and minimal optics. I don't know how Microsoft is displaying the images but even if it's hundreds per eye, that's not too bad.

i thought it was already aluded to that it would be around $800.

...and that's too bad if they want the anyone to buy it.

I'd be surprised if it was 800.

Isn't it crazy that in the smartphone age $500 feels average?

It doesn't feel average to me.
I'm still cheap.  50$ is average.  200$ is high end. After that is madness.

I do something similarly with my iPhone. When I upgrade, I don't upgrade to the latest model. I go for the one before so I only have to pay $99.
