I'm starting to wonder why they are showing it off now. Did they feel pressure the whole world is getting ready for vr, so they had to jump out there so they don't seem behind the tech curve?

Yeah, that's where all the new hands on have been coming from. But it's clear it's not something you want the public to try just yet. The should have left it cooking awhile longer before they talked about. Their history of "innovation " isn't that great and they are developing the "boy who cried wolf" syndrome.

I personally think this is the results of execs either trying to impress or just trying to keep their jobs.  I'm assuming the guy in charge of hololens is talking shame to the higher ups who are most likely being fooled into giving them a higher budget.  That in turn gets the marketing machine in motion.

Oh cool!

Looks like the headset being shown off yesterday is the final consumer version.

What does he mean by experience?
Like he actually got to try it and it's worse now?
Or is he just going off what he saw?

He tried it out at both the reveal and the thing yesterday.

Of true, not hyped anymore. I'll make a headset that dangles a vita in front of your face and it will provide the same experience.

This quote is very fitting for this: "Don't ever, ever try to lie to the internet - because they will catch you. They will de-construct your spin. They will remember everything you ever say for eternity." - Gabe Newell
