1. Much higher resolution. 2. Much better AA. 3. Ubersampling, which is effectively another layer of smoothness and AA. 4. Much higher quality DOF and motion blur.

By that reasoning Uncharted 2 on PC would be the best looking game ever(Which would be close to true).  Also "Much better AA" isn't so cut and dry.  There's a reason why everything is shifting away from MSAA and going back to MLAA (FXAA is a modified version of the later).  Image quality is a small portion of graphics.  Lighting and Shading is top priority in making a game look amazing.  It's also why CGI movies look as good as they do.  I mean, does Final Fantasy X HD look better than MGS 4?  One is running at a higher resolution and it's not Metal Gear.  Witcher 2 has full HDR yes, but it's only using a global lighting model.  There's no local lights mixed in, which is very intensive on hardware.  Same with shading.  Most games tend to skip proper lighting shading.  Which gives you that flat look.  Uncharted 2, 3, Killzone 2, 3 and now The Order have the best shading model I've ever seen in games.  It's also why they're the closest to looking like CGI movies.

Yes, FFX HD looks better than Uncharted 2 because of resolution.

I'm not seeing any datedness in the cutscene.
Second one looks a bit outdated, and first looks pretty good still.

yeah because the cutscenes were rendered on 4 connected PS3's. but in the actual gameplay its pretty outdated. (also, most games rendere cut scenes in the same graphical quality as the gameplay now days)
