While this is true... an international corporation is not being thrown in jail  :P seven top fifa officials have been arrested but fifa itself is very much still operational.

My comment was meaning why the hell did they reelect the same president while all this controversy is going on.

God knows, he has a way with words and must have convinced them its not his fault. The way I see it, he's either corrupt himself and is in on all this, meaning he is not fit for office, or he is incompetent and has not seen that the people he works with have been taking bribes, meaning he is not fit for office. There was only one other option but surely the voters should have seen that change was needed?

The voting was rigged, obviously. FIFA is a despicable corporation. Everyone knew corruption was involved when Qatar and Russia got the next world cups...

Qatar?? How many people can actually point to Qatar on a map let alone know the country even exists?

Its reasonably well known but they couldn't have picked a worse place tbh. There's been so much hassle over it because its going to be too hot in the summer and inconvenient at any other time. If the voting wasn't rigged I don't see how Qatar would have won
