The guy on coke at the end was the best part. "YOU CAN GIVE A THUMBS UP!" (now just have my hands above my head the whole presentation)

Quote from: the-Pi-guy on Jun 11, 2015, 06:05 PMNope.  I give it a D+.
I give it a C. It's just average at best. They are really trying to sell something that, honestly,  most people don't want. Why do I say that? Because I agree with everything at the beginning of the conference about immersion. However, nothing as immersion killing than half assed immersion. Take insomniac game for example. I'm not immersed in the world. I'm viewing the game from a different plane and I have no presence or interactions with the environment or characters. Also, if I'm suppose to be immersed are they going to supply an AC to blow on me while I play? There really is no immersion for that game and thus anything trying to make it only brings out the flaws in it.There is no point for me to play the game through the rift when the better experience to be had is on 2d gaming machines.

Nope.

OR is only available with a bundled Xbox One controller.

Then this is an optional controller that can also be bought.

wow.  this just sounds doomed to fail again.

..i got a bit optimistic when i first read about this partnership but this is getting dumb.   primary input a standard gamepad.  an optional (ergo unsupported) controller to do anything special in the VR space.  xbox integration via a required windows 10 pc.  no gaems.

i said it before and i mean it more than ever.    flip flap flop.

It could have only been funnier if Andrew House came out on stage at the end and said, "...and this is the closest the Xbox One will get to VR. Here's to next generation!"

Or what if OR will be back on stage for Microsoft's show, showing virtual room stuff again?

That might be funnier.

Pretty sure I'll need a bucket next to me just in case I vomit from laughter.

I mean it's really just remote play using a PC as a middleman and a, likely, expensive pair of goggles on your face.

Mmm_fish_tacos

So awkward

Also, lol at them saying VR is the thing now lol. What about HoloLens?

It's got potential!

I almost wrote that in the SFV thread.  lol

The whole show was pretty awkward.
