You should, don't let the first level crush your spirits, you'll get the hang of it sooner or later :D

This. Definitely. The first level will feel like the game is just unfair to someone who hasn't played these games. Once you find the shortcuts, which stay unlocked even after you die, it becomes much easier. After I beat the second boss I'm now really into the groove of the game. I leveled up a bit, improved my weapon, and the grinding that I had to do in the first level got me very use to how the game handles and what most of the timings are. I don't panic when seeing enemies anymore. It's still not EASY but I don't feel like it's going to take me every bit of a year to complete. I feel a lot more confident now. I am still enjoying every bit of it, though. Even the parts that would normally frustrate me.

crud, the two wolves on the bridge killed me.

Also, I noticed one bigger dude close to the first checkpoint if I went to the left but I decided against going up against him lol. Did he hold any secrets? :o

I would really advise against fighting them two at a time. Throw a pebble at one of them and draw him back alone if you can. I actually have not even killed those two. I found a way around that lets me avoid them. The big dude at the end of the bridge is basically standing guard to a boss area. The Cleric Beast.

how do I embed those bloodstone shards in my weapon?

Sounds like you're moving along quickly.

Well I upgraded my armor a bit. Still lost about 3000 blood on those werewolves :(. Could've fully upgraded the armor if I hadn't died there.

Yay you beat him!

And yup, no one with a name respawns. Or really no one who is an individual respawns.

It's totally possible to kill quest givers and then not be able to finish the game because of that.

Woohoo! Neverdies and I have made it to the snow castle. Scary as fudge! Like the rest of the game is disturbing, but this is actually chilling. Haunted Mansion vibe all over with these effing enemies.
i really hope i dont get iced over later on then..

In the house on the hill is a workshop bench. Use that to fortify your weapon.

Yeah. If you die a second time attempting to retrieve your blood echoes you lose them. Thing is though, not all enemies will pick them up and force you to kill them. I was killed by a brick troll near the Cathedral Ward and when I went back for revenge my blood echoes were laying on the ground. He didn't take them.

In the Hunter's Dream. Run right by the doll and up the hill.

yup,  youll loose it on the second death.  I have noticed though that it wont put your echoes in a harder enemy.  Everytime i have died from something bigger than an ogre, it put my echoes either on the ground nearby, or in a low level enemy nearby.
