You respawn in the right place you left.

The game auto saves every move... I left the game near to death and it back in the exactly point just to see the YOU DIED lol

I'm in the middle of the bridge and left/quit the game (turn off the console for eg.)... when I enter in the game again I'm back at the middle of the bridge.

Auto save every move.

That is how it works for me.

thats happened to me a few times, its rage inducing

and if you quit it pops you back right where you were, and everything is constantly saving.  I try to leave the game though while im in the dream place, as its a safer place to get going again.
