It's like everything gets delayed this gen. I honestly think that AAA games getting delayed is the trend instead of the exception this generation.

"The team at Naughty Dog will be heads down working through 2015 making sure that Nathan Drake's story gets the closure it deserves"

Also, is this the final Uncharted?

Xbro

I thought it was confirmed a while ago for this to be the final Uncharted.

Legend has a good quote in his sig for delayed games.

"A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad." - Shigeru Miyamoto

Though I believe the actual quote is a bit different.

Actually, yes. Releasing a huge game in the holidays can have a much bigger impact than it will ever have in spring. PS4 will keep being looked at as the console without exclusives (even though we know it has plenty) due to its biggest one missing.
Honestly that stigma hasn't even begun to leave the retarded depths of the internet. The PS4 will keep dominating the competition and Uncharted will come when it's ready and still have a great impact.

But Sony should still have a backup plan for the holidays, first thing that comes to mind would be an Uncharted Collection, which could actually even help Uncharted 4 if it comes out before it, other than that another big game would be good, maybe GT.

Haha GT ain't coming this year.

It's just disappointing that ND once released a new game every two years almost but now they've taken like 4-5 years (eventually) to make UC4?!

Driveclub was good since launch...online connectivity was the issue
The Order was also good.
Maybe if U4 didn't have tacked on MP it'd make it in 2015. Not that I care  ;)
Yes, but Driveclub became awesome.
Exactly, delays help!
Tacked on would insinuate that it is an after thought, an after thought insinuates that not much work is being put into it.  Not much work being put into insinuates that not much time is going into it, that means that if it was the "tacked on" MP's fault, it would still release this year.  :P

No it wouldn't, unless they announce a bunch of really high profile holiday 2015 titles at e3 they aren't going to lessen the blow anyway, they have nothing to gain from hiding this.

If the point was to be upfront, as you said, they could have already told us at PSX. Remember Bruce's tweet about an Uncharted-themed month (i don't remember exactly how it was), I called it back then that it meant looking for a month between December and January to release the game, a sign that it would not make it in 2015. Pretty sure they this means they already knew. But they did the smart thing and "hid it", because it was December and PS4 holiday buyers were on the table.
And they wouldn't need to announce a bunch of high profile games at E3, one would be enough. Whether it's GT or something else.

As I said, I don't "care", as I still have the PS4 games I want to play coming, my post was calling into question the decision to do it like this and at this moment. I'm simply curious as to what the exact reason is. I don't believe they just got up one morning and decided it was time to say it, or that they reached a 100% point of certainty that it had to be delayed and immediately came out to tell us.
Maybe I should ask Tidux, i'm sure he has some great insight into the matter.

Not surprised to be honest.  Their gameplay demo was in rough shape.  Though I was assuming it might have been a multiplayer map.

Well and they used to relase a game every single year back on the PS1 but that's just not how it works anymore.

People want innovative new games, with higher fidelity than on PS3 and more content, while still keeping the same dev cycles they had on last gen, well sorry folks but we really can't have it all.

I'm not so sure we saw the same gameplay demo.

Where's there?
The question is "when", not "where". You said a year after DC release lol

Wait, what? It looked and played great. Also, not sure how you could think that was multiplayer lol

I forgot when it came out.  :P
It already existed when I got my PS4.

What on earth are you interpreting into this tweet?

No I'm pretty sure that back in december they were still aiming at a 2015 release, which they as they've in the press release then later realised wouldn't be able to meet.

And one game at E3 certainly wouldn't have been enough, cause unless something crazy happens UC4 is still going to be Sonys biggest game at this E3 and as we all know negative news travels way faster than positive news, so I'm pretty sure they delay news would have still made headlines everywhere and if I were Sony I wouldn't want the news about my conference at the biggest gaming trade show be dominated by delay of my biggest game.
