They've talked about the game being more open than previous titles. The gameplay demo was just a demonstration of a small segment of the game.

I think its a good representation of what gameplay will generally be like. It was quite a lengthy gameplay video (20mins?).

The levels definitely feel bigger and more intricate with more options to tackle a level, however i still feel as though the core gameplay is very much the same, with no major differences between U4 and previous titles. Whether or not the series needs a big mix up is up for debate i guess. Personally I would have liked Naughty Dog to be more risky with U4 especially now that they are on new hardware.

This delay is particularly surprising imo, because Naughty Dog has been quite vocal about a smooth transition from PS3 to PS4. They said they were able to use a lot of what they did on PS3 on PS4. They didn't need to build stuff from scratch or at least that's the impression they gave. One of the reasons i think they did that was so that they can actually meet deadlines...so yeah dissapointed that they missed this one. :(

of course the core is the same! It wouldn't be Uncharted if it wasn't.

Obviously it's a TPS/Platformer...but there's a lot you can do with those genre's to mix it up. There wasn't that much new in the demo vid.

Lol. People want innovation in uncharted game? Like what? Teleportation? Robot? It's like striping all unique traits of the series and make something else. People now a days have unrealistic expectations.
Greatness awaits #4theplayers

Yes! Elena and Chloe having an HDD transformation would be amazing!

We went over this and I'm pretty sure we all agreed it looked a lot better than PS3 games in terms of lighting and textures. It was also way more open than UC1-3.
It didn't look 100% polished but that's because it was a year away from release.

Also note there's no lighting at all in this scene.  There's only the ambient lighting, which just shows you what's on the screen.  There's no light source.
