Ludicrous Speed

I don't think people are only complaining about length. There's also the high % of the game that is cutscenes, the price, and the abundance of QTE's.

Mostly the price. If this game debuted at $20-40, thered be a lot less fudges given.

I agree about the concept of the top part. A bad game that's short only adds insult to injury.

So if the order is 6 hours long, that means its still approximately 72x longer than super mario  :P

This game has had a big marketing push. I was actually surprised when I saw an ad for it on TV last night...I barely watch TV nowadays lol.
Legend made me remove this. Everybody riot.

kitler53

well i broke down and pre-ordered last night.   i originally was planning on waiting because i have a massive backlog of games to play (diablo, TLoU, rayman, finish LBP3, finish killzone, all those ps+ games) but i decided i want to play it before the rest of you fudges spoil the story for me and once bloodborne comes out i won't be playing anything else for at least a few months.

bring it on babies.

Reading the gaf thread about length, I feel like no one values their time. It'd be like if you removed fast travel from an open world game. It'd be 100s of hours long yet flipping suck. Game length is certainly an important aspect, but only as an element to the total package. Without everything else, the stat is pointless and has zero indication of the game's value.
Agreed. I hate it when games are long only to be long as a statistic

Why would a game like this with its insanely high production values, good story, good gameplay, average length be priced at $20-$40. It's just silly to expect such a thing when much more barebones games like TF and Evolve were priced at $60 from the get-go. Admittedly, both will have dropped fast to $20 or thereabouts and I expect The Order to drop in price relatively quickly but the first few hundred thousand buyers will have to pay full price and rightfully so. So much effort went into this game on all levels.

Nonsense. Climbing towers is fun. As is clearing the same exact safe houses in 100 different locations of an identical map.

A short bad game is better than a long bad game though. Nobody wants to finish a long bad game but many will finish the short bad game because it's short and maybe it has some redeeming qualities.

I honestly can't believe that the length of this game has turned into such a big issue. Who saw that coming?

Yup. Ubisoft open world games could do without some of the repetition. It's bad enough that their games are repetitive by themselves but when they also have repetition from game to game (most of their recent open world games have very similar side quests, collectables, world rules etc.) you've got a problem
