Fairly big sellers, but we haven't had a new iPod Touch in 2 years.

There was a 2 year difference between iPod Touch 4G and 5G.

Yeah, but that's an ever decreasing market. The people who do not want a smartphone nor want a tablet will on the whole be satisfied with the current itouch.

I says differently for I am one of those people. 
Actually I do have a tablet, but I want a new iPod Touch as well.

There was a 2 year difference between iPod Touch 4G and 5G. 

2 years and a month, while ever other gen was one year exactly. Since it looks like they missed the boat on another September announcement, it's either coming in a year or never imo.
