Yeah, most definitely. I'm thinking maybe 100k for WiiU, possibly even a bit more. PS4 will be close to 300k. X1 will be 50-80k imo. That is if it's a 4 week month

Wtf is happening though? The US market is just doing terrible. So is the Japanese. We need some new and big franchises to revitalize the market. Companies need to stop being stupid by making games exclusive to one or a few consoles who are not even the market leaders.

Well, the handheld market is losing to smartphones and tablets which are more functional and prevalent. Not to mention just as good for second screen devices. The old consoles are just that. Old. These are devices that have been around for 7 or 8 years. This isn't an unusual time for them to die. We just never noticed before because the new generation was typically present for 2 or more years before the old gen collapsed. Console transitionary periods also play hell with game sales because they're split between tons of platforms and some people choose to wait until they upgrade to buy them.

I don't think people truly realize what "mobile" has done to gaming.  Gaming, as we know it, has always survived off of children.  Shovelware, parents buying things they don't understand for their children, etc.  All those people are buying tablets instead now.  All those people are why the PS2 and DS sold 150 million units.

They're the same people who invested in the Wii. In fact, the very crowd you're referring to was almost entirely responsible for that console's success. It was marketed to the right people at the right time. Nintendo fans to this day still think the Wii sold because it was an awesome gaming platform for actual gamers. The Wii would have tanked if not for them. We actually could have been looking at fewer console sales in the 7th gen compared to the 6th gen.
