They're the same people who invested in the Wii. In fact, the very crowd you're referring to was almost entirely responsible for that console's success. It was marketed to the right people at the right time. Nintendo fans to this day still think the Wii sold because it was an awesome gaming platform for actual gamers. The Wii would have tanked if not for them. We actually could have been looking at fewer console sales in the 7th gen compared to the 6th gen.

I always had a theory that this gen wasn't actually larger than last.  Between the people buying Wiis and putting them in the closet, to people owning PS3 and 360 consoles, there's probably less unique console owners vs PS2 days.  As an aside, I think PSNow is one of the smartest things Sony has invested in.

He won't react, because his laptop-battery dried up again or something like that.

What are the NDP numbers for PS4?  Still, Infamous outsold TitanFall Xbox One.  That's gotta hurt.

That was fun... even before NPD, just few days after he posted, they adjusted the numbers to put PS4 on top (of course only 2k is different that 20k showed by NPD but his post was fun).

I agree but mostly because the Wii gamers are not moving to a new generation and I don't think they ever will.

PS4 will grow stealing core gamers from Wii and 360
Xbox One will fall losing core users to PS4
Wii U will fall losing core user to OS4 but mostly losing these casual users to anybody.

So the Wii U part is what making the industry fad... the industry is losing the Wii casual user base.

I was think some about next NPD sales and about the sales ration between US and The World.

NPD May Guesses

I was looking about the April average per week for the consoles to start...

PS4: 199k / 4 = ~50k per week
Xbox One: 115k / 4 = ~30k per week
Wii U: 50k / 4 = ~13k per week

So using the the most important fact that will happen for May we can guess these sales for a 5 weeks-month.

PS4: 55k-60k per week * 5 = 275k-300k * MLB The Show and Watch Dogs
Xbox One: 15k-20k per week * 5 = 75k-100k * Drop due the fact gamers are expecting E3 and new Kinectless SKU
Wii U: 15-25k per week * 5 = 75k-125k * Mario Kart

These are the sales I expect for May.

Global Sales Based in US/The World Ratio

If we look at the previous months for PS4/Xbox One we can find a ratio to guess the Global Sales:

PS4 Nov > 1.14m (US) to 2.1m (WW) = 54%
PS4 Dec > 2.00m (US) to 4.2m (WW) = 48%
PS4 Jan > 2.27m (US) to 5.3m (WW) = 43%
PS4 Feb > 2.54m (US) to 6.0m (WW) = 42%
PS4 Mar > 2.91m (US) to 7.0m (WW) = 41%

Xbox One Dec > 1.82m (US) to 3.0m (WW) = 61%

Well I don't have another sales data for Xbox One... so I will work with what we have right now.

PS4 Apr: 3.11m (US) to 7.4m (WW) * using 42%
PS4 Apr: 3.11m (US) to 7.6m (WW) * using 41%
PS4 Apr: 3.11m (US) to 7.8m (WW) * using 40%

Xbox One Apr: 2.64m (US) to 4.26m (WW) * using 62%
Xbox One Apr: 2.64m (US) to 4.33m (WW) * using 61%
Xbox One Apr: 2.64m (US) to 4.40m (WW) * using 60%

So the gap right now is already above 3 million WW... using this trend PS4 can reach 9m before Xbox One reach 5m.

Sorry guys I did a terrible mistake... May is a 4-week month and not a 5-week.

So using the the most important fact that will happen for May we can guess these sales for a 4 week-month.

PS4: 55k-60k per week * 4 = 220k-240k * MLB The Show and Watch Dogs
Xbox One: 15k-20k per week * 5 = 60k-80k * Drop due the fact gamers are expecting E3 and new Kinectless SKU
Wii U: 15-25k per week * 5 = 60k-100k * Mario Kart

These are the sales I expect for May.

Dr. Pezus

Thought so.
Although I think 250k or so for PS4 is likely and WiiU could go higher due to a big initial MK boost

Mmm_fish_tacos

Ps4 > 250k Xbox One < 100k wii u will remain flat.

Dr. Pezus

Ps4 > 250k Xbox One < 100k wii u will remain flat.

I really think that's impossible. There is some hype for MK

Hype from people who already own a Wii U?
