some do. some don't.

applies to both TV and movies. with TV it only ever works if there is a "play all" option.   i've watch a lot of Star Trek lately and they make you pick individual episodes.

yeah.  most of my disc watching is holiday stuff.  I think they must all employ the override because almost none apply the override.

Arthur Christmas stands out as the only one that resumes to the end of the movie every year.

It's weird to think how very quickly with llm smart homes this will be an issue of the past. It'd just override the override and play the episodes for you exactly how you want.

I think Avatar The Last Airbender is still my absolute favorite show.

I think a big part of it is that the soundtrack is so on point for my personal tastes. Season 1 is usually considered the weakest, but there are so many scenes that give me goose bumps.

I just rewatched the first few episodes with Henry.

Sony bought a huge warehouse/distribution company for physical media 4 years ago.

3 years ago, they merged it with Crunchyroll promising it to be the #1 place for all things anime.

And today, they've officially driven it into the ground.  Locked it behind a paywall, and reduced what they offered from 10's of thousands of items to less than 1,000.

Money well spent  :-[

Any Star Trek fans?

I was planning on getting the Star Trek series that were considered to be good. But it seems like most of them are pretty well regarded.

Planning in a few months to also get the Doctor Who series. That's getting reprinted.

Also thinking at some point to get Star Wars Mandalorian and Andor. Probably won't get any of the others.

skip the original.   it didn't age well.

if you only watch one make it next generation.

I haven't quite watched everything (actively doing that now actually) but:

deep pace nine is great.
voeger is good.
discovery is good to great.  the first season pissed me off until a recon on the last episode that suddenly make things make sense.  I think a lot bounced on that first season but it gets better from there.
strange new words is great.
lower decks is good but don't watch it first.  it's kind of like family guy except all the jokes are based on Star Trek so it won't be funny if haven't watch much Star Trek.

so basically I agree they are all good.

I haven't watch picard or enterprise yet.

i think prodigy is the kids one.  my son liked it.  I'd say it was very kid centric and not something I'll care to watch on my own.

story lines are mostly self contained but there are cross over moments.  things will make the most sense if you watch them in the order they were released.

oh, and if possible watch the movies intermixed as released too.   the shows assume at times you saw them.
