Yep the music being spot on, makes a movie or scene hit 1000% more.

Probably one of  my favorite examples would be Interstellar.  That score for the entire movie is insane

it doesn't get the attention graphics gets but sound design the probably the most important part of something being good or bad.

Bugonia had a great score. Very weird movie but I loved the score.

Just elevated it so much. Oh shame he's riding his bicycle but shame this is epic and intense, the music says so!

Has anyone seen a critique of a show/movie where it just feels like the person wanted a different kind of story?

I haven't seen a lot of critiques in the first place, but a few stick out.

Like there was that Sherlock video by Hbomberguy (not saying it's a bad video or critique), but there was one very subjective point that stuck out to me.

He was talking about Sherlock being a bad detective show because it doesn't let the viewer figure things out. That's not something I disagree with. But it does feel like wanting a different kind of show than it is.

Can't think of any specific ones of the top of my head, but yeah I've seen that type of thing.

I guess I'm guilty of that too. Cause a lot of things suck imo but have cool foundations. Like the movie Event Horizon.
