We watch a lot of movies that are just kinda good.
It's not specifically about the movie being old or not, it's about the movie being a random watch.

Maybe just cause I have a warped mindset of work work work, but it's about what I get out of the movie by watching it. For example I watched the old Solaris movie a few weeks ago, it wasn't even kinda good, but it was interesting. Gave me stuff to think about, new ideas.

I generally go into movies knowing very little about them. Pretty much just the genre, and whether it seemed like people liked it (which I tend to look at either conversations, IMDb, Metacritic, Rotten Tomatoes). I like to be surprised and I don't generally have any interest in having discussions about movies that I might not watch.

A lot of people talk very fondly of the Superman movie, I'm generally a fan of DC, and on IMDb, it has a 7.4, 88% on rotten tomatoes, 82 on Metacritic - so why wouldn't I watch it? It's an absolute favorite for a lot of people.

Maybe I would appreciate it more, if I rewatched it (not that I plan to do that anytime soon.)

Wifey and I are watching the movie Before Sunrise.

Romance movie, and it's very interesting.

I feel like this is exactly the kind of thing, that I wouldn't have been able to watch, if I weren't buying movies on disc.

Well that's a shock. It didn't look bad but I certainly didn't expect it to be good.

I also wanted to see the other Superman start up movies before watching the new one.

Agree 100%.

Quote from: BananaKing on Jul 13, 2025, 12:43 AMWatches superman. Better than I thought it would be. But it wasn't fantastic either. Some of it was really silly. I also didn't like some of the casting choices. Though superman himself was good

Lex Luthor wasn't my favorite casting.
Lex Luthor in Smallville (Michael Rosenbaum) I would say is still the best Lex I've seen.

I don't think I loved Jimmy Olsen either.

I also feel like most of these Superman movies are trying to do too many things. It wasn't too bad here.

Yeah the actor for lex just didn't fit all that too well.

I forgot who the actor in smallvill was. I didn't watch that show much back in the day
