From the description here too, it sounds like they're conflating the two as well. They're talking about multiple universes, yet they refer to them as timelines.

I think that could be rather confusing.
I was also thinking about how this feels funny to me.

A lot of the time, they make a big deal about how infinite universes exist and all possibilities exist - and yet most of the time they stick with the stories where there are only really superficial changes.
Yeah the multiverse is really stupid if you try to apply logic.

Just go to a universe where all life died 10 seconds ago. And take whatever you want. And do that over and over because there are an infinite amount of those dead universes.

I don't know enough about the Stop Killing Games initiative to have a strong opinion. It sounds like a good pro-consumer idea, but I'm not sure about the specifics.

But I'm a little sad that a YouTuber that I liked for a little while, has turned out to be so poorly executed.

You had posted a video about the one YouTuber:

Unless you mean Pirate Software. I posted about liking him awhile ago, but he's since been in like 4 controversies.

Anyone have any experience with raspberry pis or home security systems?

I got a blink but I'm just getting flooded with phone notifications, so I'm planning to set up Home Assistant so I can run some custom scripts and filter notifications.

the-pi-guy

I had gotten a raspberry Pi many years ago.

Nothing about home security systems.

For some reason my son thought we needed a home security system, even inside, so "that we know what's going on"

Good idea. Only way you'll ever catch the ghosts in action.

The night vision on these things is just so fun. I feel like I've been transported into the Ghost Hunter's tv show.

iceland was fun.

there was quite a few moments where i could see for ~20 miles in every direction and couldn't see a single person other than my family.   it felt good to so fully disconnect from humanity for a bit.    reading the news today for the first time and everything is soo horrifyingly depressing.

Wow, these are cheap. 8 Tops for $40. It should let me run a full local ai on the video feeds, detect exactly what triggered the motion detector.

So far it's funny how many cats I've detected. Didn't know so many walked right in front of my front door.

edt: that's why you do your own research instead of just letting AI google for you!

Better performance, equivalent price, and not abandoned.

Glad you enjoyed iceland! On my list, always sounded cool.

Some super random things.

I had a dream last night where I was stressing out because most companies weren't putting movies on disc anymore.

So that's fun.

For some reason like two months ago, our house was getting infested with spiders. I don't even mean that we had some spiders, they were literally multiplying, and it was weird. Spider webs and egg sacks were pretty quickly all around the house, within the space of like 2 weeks.

Went through the house and vaccuumed up all the spiders, webs, and sacks that I could find.

Haven't seen any since.

Was kind of super weird. We've had spiders before, but I've never seen them multiply so rapidly.
