There's this YouTube channel that's very popular, and does (I would call them) gaming conversations. I've seen like 3 or 4 videos of his, and I find them kind of grating. The videos that I've watched have all felt like - someone who knows a little bit about gaming but not very much.

I've watched some videos about Pirate Software, and his code is terrible.

It's kind of fascinating to me how people are suddenly focusing on his code. Seen several memes on Reddit about it even.  

I hadn't seen his code before those videos. I'm surprised it didn't come up before.

I watched a bit of the video, but in general I'm not a fan of shaming people for their code. End result of the code is all that matters.

Sorry, this wasn't the best thread for them. It's not really about the videos themselves. Just that there's a lot of drama - there's a lot of pushback where people are questioning a lot of Pirate Softwares life. 

The code stuff is particularly silly. There's not even evidence that some of the code is even being used anywhere. I have some really bad code too. 

I have even seen a video that he's supposedly faking his voice. He has a story that he tells that he had second puberty, so his voice is lower now. But there's some segment where his voice goes back to what it used to be, and he panics and he seemingly adjusts something on his computer and it's back. 

The drama is  more and more annoying. I'm seeing followups to followups. "This is the response to the response to the response to the response".

I was watching a youtube video about all the mistakes proper channels make when discussing cellular biology and abiogenesis. Stuff that really irks me like where the presenter presents both established science and current guesses side by side as if all of it is verified and locked in. Or when the explanation is so simplified that you really aren't learning, you're just getting told a tale to believe.



But then in the last third of the video my alarm bells started to ring. It wasn't just pushing all the legit flaws these youtuber's make, it started to attack the scientists themselves. As if these flaws were their flaws and not SciShow or whatever's editing flaws.

And then it started to mock these scientists for coming up with the most elaborate theories because they already had a solution in mind. Like a detective being hellbent on proving a death was natural even though everything points to murder.

So it was attacking the theory of abiogenesis itself. Didn't directly state it in the video but looked at the channel and it was a Christian anti evolution one. Awkward.
