I prefer gaming on PS5 because of the controller, but otherwise it's just a box for me. No difference.
I only had a month of game pass for like $10 so I'm not out anything really on the xbox side. I ended up cancelling game pass for now

I need someone to complain to about the game's dumb name!

(and it's great in general)
on a scale of 0 to 70 $ how would you rate it?

Too rich for me right now for video games.  Trying to cut down on frivolous spending in general and video games is pretty much the easiest place to cut since my backlog is at least 3 years deep.

...especially since i'm buying my kid a switch for his birthday.  That's basically my budget for the rest of the year.

Yeah so easy to be a cheap gamer if you don't play day 1.

But I really liked indy. I went in with super low expectations yet it really delivered in so many ways.

So not dead yet.

Has anyone ever played a game that had a changing aspect ratio?

If anyone has ever seen the movie Galaxy Quest, it is somewhat peculiar in that it very notably shifts aspect ratios.

The doom dark ages trailer does it. Maybe the game does too.

i was going to say that samurai jack (show) does it so i'd frankly be surprised if the game(s) didn't do it as well.

It's something I'm super sensitive to in movies. Ever since Wizard of Oz, directors just love having a big reveal.

Was so annoying in the early hollywood Imax days. Movies randomly switching to full Imax dimensions just for specific shots.

3 years ago I guess.

i finished the entropy center last night.

not great.  the mood and writing were pretty good even if highly adjacent to portal 2.   but the puzzles were just not great.   the core mechanic was to rewind time on an object. i feel like literally every puzzle had the same answer:
- place object in reverse order of need
- rewind object

i had some puzzles that took me a long time (easy to know since they put a timer into the game).  but it was never because i didn't figure out what to do quickly.  i had a lot of trouble with:
- over rewinding an object just a smidge
- missing the jump pad

in both cases it meant i needed to start the entire puzzle again since puzzles are so order dependent.

Been on my backlog. I'll play it during recovery, maybe tomorrow
