There are no missable trophies but the guide makes the following suggestions:
- enable "Enhanced Listening" to make it easier to find collectables without a guide
- enable "Collectible Tracker" as soon as possible to avoid a glitch that will render this feature useless
- make a manual save on the last chapter to ensure you can use the chapter select to replay any chapters as needed

so since i'm the only one that hasn't played this before i'm going to skip the spoiler tags.

i am very open to critiques on how i broke up the assignements but from where i'm sitting:
- time to beat is ~23 hours.  44 for 100% completion.
- the walkthough guides suggest there are 11 chapters but each list various sub sections which different chapters having wildly different number of sub sections.
- i divided the game into 11 chunks so in theory that's like 2 hours per week.
- the last of us season 2 airs in "april" so with the book club ending on april 11th i feel that is a pretty good timing.

I will not be going for the platinum lol. I think you need to beat it with permadeath on. (maybe that's just for the remaster)

I will try playing with different outfits on  8) (unless that is also just for the remaster)

i skimmed the guide and it's ranked 3 out of 10 difficulty to obtain.   they specifically call out that you do not need to play the game on any particular difficultly unlike the prior game.  looks pretty easy to get especially if you do the enhanced listening mode so you don't miss many collectables on the first play though.

looks like the hardest part is you cannot get enough supplements in order to upgrade everything in 1 play though.   so 1.5 playthoughs appears to be the minimum.    i likely won't actually go for the plat but i'll chase as many trophies as are easy.

edit: actually i just read from the trophy guide that "additional trophies" where added with patch 1.05.   so grounded difficulty and permadeath is required for those trophies but not for the platinum trophy.

I'm pretty sure that was just the first game.

They were big about accessibility with the second one.

Literally just last week I watched a youtube video of a guy getting every trophy in tlou2 remaster, so yeah they changed their minds on accessibility limiting trophies.

I'll replay it on normal probably. I don't care about hard games unless they are puzzle games.

litterally just looked up the trophy guide for TLoU2 remastered:

QuoteOverview:
Estimated Platinum Difficulty: 2/10 for base game trophies
Estimated 100% Trophy Difficulty: 8/10 for Grounded Mode and No Return DLCs

same as the non-remaster for the most part.  grounded wasn't in the base mode and instead added it via a patch for TLoU2 (non-remaster) and thus is a seperate trophy grouping.  so you don't need to due grounded for the platinum but you do need to do it for the 100%.    from what i'm reading remaster shipped with all the modes and trophies but kept the separate groupings anyways.

easy to plat.  hard to 100%.  since the plat requires 1.5 playthoughs all of the trophy guides say that if you want the 100% to do the plat as part of the grounded run needed for the 100%.

edit: here's a picture that probably explains it much more clearly then my ramblings.

Nah I understood you. Sorry if it came across like I ignored your post.

I think I remember them doing this for uncharted 2 and 3 too. I have both those plats but there were still a bunch of multiplayer trophies I ignored.

kitler53

well i finally actually started playing this last night...

...from a gameplay perspective this isn't entirely different from other games i've played.   Uncharted obviously.   but omg does this game stress me out...

ND's ability to deliver atmosphere is soo top notch though.   the music is fantastic.  the story is great both from a cut scene perspective as well as the "chit chat" made during gameplay.   coming fresh off of pyschonauts its just an amazing contrast.   both games interupt gameplay for story a lot.  but i love the cut scenes when ND does it and i loathed each and every one in psychonauts.

I think the best thing about Part 2's gameplay is just how smooth and fluid you can move between attacks and weapons.  Obviously the more you play the more you'll be able to experiment with different gameplay scenarios.

I despise snow levels with a passion! They are the most bland environments ever. Looks great in Part 2 but the pallete is just bleehh

so i haven't finished my assignment for the week.   just wrapped up "the horde" and likely will need to push the rest of it out to this weekend.

...but i thought the visuals were pretty good.   i grew up in Mn so snow is my thing and i find it beautiful IRL.  there was like one jarring bit for me when Dina's horse jumped a snowy log and the snow came off the log in a totally awkward way for real snow.   but overall i think they did a great job here.

with respect to my own thoughts:  JFC i'm terrible at this game.   i died soo many times between the patrol and the horde.

also JFC at the end of the horde.   when abby shot joel's leg off i was all like WTF!?!   so far (afaik) there as been no reasons given for why abby is hunting joel but that scene was hard to watch.

Yeah i hate snow in real life too so that's probably a big reason why i don't care for them in games. But yeah it looks great in game though.

Yeah that part with Joel was a gut punch to me.

I just got to patrol. But I've already beaten so no big deal for me. I'll play the rest over tomorrow and the weekend for the first part
