As Horizon said, this is exactly the kind of game that they'll give a 9 or 10 to.

Edge give it a 2/10, drop it to 93 so I win!

Have any of yall played modern 3D mario? How does Astro feel compared to them?

I really haven't played many of the newer 3d Mario's. I adored Super Mario Galaxy.  But I actually think I'm enjoying this much more than that.

It's pretty similar to Astro's Playroom.

I personally prefer how Astro controls over Super Mario.

Sorry I was meaning the moment to moment mechanics.

There are a lot of mechanics that are substantially better than Playroom.

Also I really feel like you would love a handful of worlds. I can't tell you why, because it'd ruin the surprise.

i'm only middle of world 2 but i think this one is clearly better than astro's playroom.   like on some level they are the same,..  both 3D platformers and all.    but the execution is much better.   specifically in the way the gameplay mechanics get changed up to keep the gameplay feeling fresh but also more involved/intricate.

so like to put it another way,... astro's playroom was built to highlight the dualsense.   there were portions of that game that were clearly designed less for fun and more to show off what is possible with the haptics.  astro is just pure fun for the sake of fun.

...and the nostalgia factor.   like with Pi i'm not going to write down a spoiler (not even one you can opt into) but i had a bit misunderstanding of what "nostalgia" means to this game.   astro's playroom is nostolgic.   nostalgia does not correctly describe astro bot.  it's a celebration.   that "graveyard" story looks even worse in highsight imo.

i played the captain pincher level last night.   oh man,..  the feels it gave me.
