I'm keeping the.   worth it just for Galaxy.   the Wii is hooked up to the TV even ...

...but the Wii box isn't worth it is it?

Wow it keeps getting worse. I have a cousin that lives right where it's expected to be the worst. I'm sure she was prepared and her family evacuated early but I worry for them.

Thankfully it's forecasted to weaken to cat 3 before landfall. But still going to be very bad. That's if that forecast holds

Yeah we'll just have to see how it goes but the storm surge sounds like it could be really bad even if the winds die down. They're not on the beach but they're in the vicinity.

Shifting south a bit. Doesn't help everyone but storm surge will now "only" be 10 feet at their house.

Looks like Tampa Bay Area got a bit more lucky having a negative surge from them being more on the north side of eye wall and the wind flow causing the bay to empty out a few feet below high tide.

So I guess they might have 3 to 5 ft surge.

Sarasota and below had the higher end

Storm surges seem to be lower than expected so that's good.

Rain and wind are the worst impacts so far

One of my mom's early memories was listening to a computer sing Daisy Bell. My grandpa worked for the phone company demonstrating new technology so they got to experience all of this even though they were pretty poor.

2001 made me remember this fact. I'd love to track down if it was before or after the movie came out.

Edt: seems it was early 60s way before the film. First demo was done in 1961 by Bell and he worked for Bell.
