Why would they reveal it before an event? We all know it's happening and we all know what it is. Just have both at the same time like almost every other console.

initial reveal likely focuses on the hardware gimmick they want to promote:

Yeah they did it for switch because it was a new concept. Doesn't everyone expect switch 2 to be equivalent to a switch pro?
