looks like terrible ergonomics.

that's the part that i think i most hate about the switch.  it basically is unusable out of the box without sinking another hundred or whatever bucks for a useable controller.  soo expensive to get something that is drastically worse performing than a playstation.  i wish they'd just have a "home console" version.

The little plastic joycon holder isn't bad imo. I use that instead of a pro controller.

Using a joycon sideways though should be illegal. I can't believe Nintendo is doubling down on it without fundamentally changing their approach. It's so bad unless you're doing a party game where the awkwardness can be part of the fun.

Switch 2 has fully leaked at CES. 3rd party companies are just openly showing their stuff for it.

Really funny.

Genki (who makes gaming accessories for the Switch and other hardware) claims the Switch 2 will launch in April. It also claims their Switch 2 mockup is based on a real Switch 2.

an april release would be perfect for me.   

i told my son i don't want him to get a switch with the switch 2 so close to release.  this has been a long running statement now:
- xmas 2023
- birthday 2024
- xmas 2024

his birthday is in may so i'd pre-order a launch console for his birthday this year if i can.   at this point i'm assuming i'm going to disappoint my kid again but even a june release wouldn't be terrible.  i'd just gift him the receipt for the pre-order.  he's a pretty understanding kid so he'd be happy enough just knowing the console pre-ordered even if it misses his actual birthday.
