Bleh that sucks. I'll probably try it out and see. I enjoyed the first but it became a slog after a couple hours from the slow movement and combat

Kinda funny how disappointing this is. You'd think this was a launch game that was rushed out the door to showcase awesome graphics, but nope we're 3.5 years into the gen.

Has a few perfect scores so some people are definitely happy with the presentation but no one makes it sound fun to play.

i'm going to download now. I'll let ya'll know!

"It feeds into an oddly patronising atmosphere—Senua is special and important just because she is and everyone recognises it on sight and praises her for it. It starts to seem like she's a Make-A-Wish child whose request was to be in God of War. It's a feeling made far worse by the very rudimentary mechanics.

You're constantly being told that you, as Senua, are accomplishing incredible feats and doing things no one else could have done—the reality is that most of the time you're just holding forward on the stick, or doing puzzles a child could solve, so it all feels deeply unearned. In one sequence where the characters were lost in a strange forest, I was heaped with praise for using my insight to find a way through—when literally all I was doing was following the one clear path in front of me."

PC Gamer gave it a 58/100 and this sure sounds like the type of story telling that'd annoy me too. Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 review | PC Gamer

Kind of reminds me of the start of Horizon...
Spoiler for Hidden:
When kid Aloy gets the device is able to see the path of the machines, and makes it easy.

I thought it felt just a little comical in Horizon. But at least it felt plausible.
Well first impressions, it is fudgy slow. Wow the movement is so slow. Was my biggest complaint from the first

No run button? Or is even running slow?

A "sprint" button but it's more like a slow jog. I was hoping that was something they would change. I don't mind slower paced sections but when the whole game is slow it's annoying

I'm not super impressed so far with the graphics with how much they hyped those up. The first environment is just a basic all rock shore and a heavy fog/rain to minimize the distance you can see.

The next area i just got to was more green and lush but I didn't go into that area much yet

Like it has a crud ton of details to the models but it was fairly bland and grey so far

With what you guys are saying I'm surprised it's getting an 81 on meta.

Me too. The only universally positive thing is the graphics and presentation, but from trailers I'm not wowed by that either.

I guess some people just get lucky and the atmosphere sweeps them up. I can't recall the last time a major game got both a 58/100 and a 100/100 from respectable reviewers.

Wow Hellblade 2 is not doing good on Steam https://steamdb.info/charts/?compare=1817230,2461850

It peaked at 4,000 concurrent players, below Hi-Fi Rush. Hopefully the game is just having a slow start or the stats are misleading for some reason.

it's already a 6 hour game. if they made running a respectable speed it would only be 5 hours...

Ha yeah that's very true

Ok finished. I think maybe around 7 or 8 hours for me. But man the gameplay was so dull and uninteresting. And there was hardly any. Which is not a big deal as that's what they wanted, but with how dull and how little there was they would have been better off just going all in on puzzles and using the environment to solve more than they had. Which was also very little and way too easy
