The ones that make me happy or sad or just weird.

There are tons of engaging well made movies that don't really hit me like that.

I love Interstellar for this scene alone. (I mean I like more of the movie, but this scene is enough)

A Silent Voice hit me hard.  I still can't watch the beginning :(

Ugh.... thats such a good scene. I think that's when the movie goes from really good, to utterly fantastic. Its just. So. Good.

For some reason Amazon has Oppenheimer at $40 for the UHD.  $10 more than Target/Walmart. Rather unusual.

Though I'm 95% sure it'll even out.

A really nice thing is that the digital edition that comes with a lot of blu-ray/uhd movies, at least the ones that are Movies anywhere, unlock an iTunes copy. So it's an easy back up.

It's made me a little more pumped to get digital copies, now that I know it does that.

What's the most money ya'll have spent on a movie?

I once got the special edition of Your Name. I don't remember the exact price, but it was $60+.

A notable one is The Lord of the Rings 4k, I spent like $75 on 3 movies.

There are a few 4k movies that I ordered early, that I spent way too much money on. $30 (Avatar 2, Super Mario Bros, Elemental). Kind of justified it on the basis that we were going to see them in theaters and we didn't.

I might go through and see which digital codes I can still activate. With me using apple+ it'd be convenient.

@Legend, do you have an Apple TV?

It is a lot nicer than I expected. I assumed it was relegated to the one website and never bothered with it.

But you can hook up a few other sites (Vudu, iTunes, Google Play, Amazon). I'm not sure what the limits are. But I have Vudu, iTunes connected. Any movies I buy off iTunes, shows up on Movies Anywhere and Vudu.

How much is the subscription and is it worth it? Been a while since I checked the offering.

$7 a month

Def has some great content for at least a few months. Ted Laso, Foundation, Mythic Quest, For All Mankind, and Silo are all ones I've watched and highly recomend. Pretty much every Apple show gets worse in the second and third season though. A lot of other ok looking shows I just haven't tried.

Also has a few good movies like CODA and eventually Killers of the flower Moon but they are rare.

Era thread about why they don't buy physical movies: most people seem to be talking about how there are too many movies to watch most of them more than once.

And I'm kind of thinking, if I don't like a movie enough to watch it twice, it probably wasn't worth watching once.

Well that doesn't inspire confidence in those movies. Hopefully Elio is primarily because they want to prioritize Inside Out 2 at all costs since that is still set for June 2024.

Snow White will damage their brand even more so it's smart to punt the movie and figure it out at a later date. The new South Park special from today was focused on Disney's movie failings so it feels like it's reaching a critical point from a public perspective.

has anything happened with Johnathan Majors yet?  He's such a good Kang so having him actually not be a good person and being removed as kang would suck in terms of the character.

He sure feels like a replaceable actor in the new Loki season.

I think at this point it's almost guaranteed he'll be recast. Why double down on him when variants make it so easy to change the actor?

oh i'm sure he will.  They'll just have to get past that initial period where all the kang statues and stuff have all just been johnathan majors, but its easily forgettable if it has to be.
