If by "they", you mean my in-laws, then yes.

Apparently if you get enough movies, you get points and you can redeem them for more movies.

Scooby Doo on Zombie Island turns 25 today.

A legitimately good movie. Not even "good for Scooby-Doo", but legitimately good.

Got Elemental 4 days early so that's cool.

I thought it was really good. Kind of mid tier for Pixar though. Thought it had some great moments.

My controversial Pixar opinions:

I feel like the Toy Story movies are technically fantastic, but I don't connect with them; so I don't consider them among my favorites. I think my five favorite Pixar movies would be The Incredibles, Wall-E, Coco, Inside Out and Ratatouille. That part isn't really controversial.

Brave is pretty universally considered to be one of the worst Pixar movies, yet I have a huge soft spot for it.  I have some issues with it, but I think I like it a lot more than some of the more critically acclaimed movies.

I think brave is better than most of their new stuff, I'll give you that.

Quote from: Legend on Sep 09, 2023, 06:12 PMWhat did anyone else think of the new little mermaid? Watched it on disney plus and thought it was so freaking bad.

Cinderella, beauty and the beast, and jungle book are all great.

Aladdin and Lion King were more mixed but still fine.

Then mermaid and pinocchio are these fever dreams that make no sense.
Getting Mulan and Beauty and the Beast (both live action) for free.

Nice. Don't know how I forgot about live action Mulan but I didn't like it that much.

There was a Lego Scooby Doo movie where they go to a haunted amusement park island.  I actually liked that movie a lot.

I posted about the anniversary of the Zombie Island movie.

It is legitimately very good.

What did you watch as a kid? Scooby Doo Where are You, I assume?

A lot of scooby doo is very mediocre. Zombie Island is actually great. Witch's Ghost is a little less great. Movie wise. TV show wise, Mystery Incorporated is generally considered the gold standard.

i mean, i dunno for sure.  whatever was out in the 80's.  i think you are right.   i did like it as a kid but it wasn't my favorite.   scooby doo and TMNT are top tier franchises for my son right now.
