Sucks for collectors. I'll play on gamepass so it won't hurt me specifically but I love having physical games.
tweet was deleted but other regions (Canada, UK) have box arts saying the game works on both series X and S meaning it's just a code.

I guess clarification is needed but I think it is more likely there is not disc in the box.

Just about one month to go. I'm super excited.

Wonder how many days I'll play before growing tired of it.

all in all starfield hype seems to have subsided atm.  I'm sure it will pick up but I wonder how bad it will do (sales/units/$) between free on gamepass and ps version cancelled.

right now it's feeling like the only metric MS will have to brag about is "downloads"/MAU or however they phrase it when gamepass people play the game.

Probably hours played or something like that.

I'm sure it will increase subscriptions. But just by how much?

I feel it will flop in sales on Xbox. On PC it should do alright.

Now the "full game" has to be bought for $35 on top of gamepass. That'll be the metric to watch.

If it feels like everyone is waiting for the 6th to play, then rip.

what does the $35 version give people?   more than just early access?

It comes with an expansion.

An expansion?!?  I thought the game was supposed to be practically limitless with 1,000s of planets to explore and sandwhich's to collect?!?   what content are they holding back to sell an expansion?!?!?!

Game subs are losing momentum. $35 purchase fees will definitely be standard for most Microsoft games going forward.

Crazy that there wasn't a huge pushback towards this. Maybe anger will grow once the premium edition launches and everyone else is stuck waiting a week.

>Momentum continues to swing away from Sub/Add-On spend towards big new premium games

Just when Sony was pushing on live service.  :o

I mean we always knew that game attach rates are like 7.  anyone thinking an all you can eat gaming buffet was going to appeal to hundreds of millions of people are delusional.

I offer without proof this statement:
90+% of gamepass and ps+extra/premium subs are from people that purchased their console in the first two years.

....who the hell cares so little about games they wait until year 4,5,6 to buy the console but then wants access to hundreds of games?!?!

One month to go for the gamepass version.

Saves will cross over between xbox and pc. Will prob start on xbox and switch to pc for console commands once I get bored.

Or xbox will be a broken mess and I'll need pc hacks just to play.
