It has a shot at outgrossing Lightyear!

Will be lucky if it reaches $150 million like Cars 3. Same audience scores yet starting much lower.

'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny': $140 Million Worldwide Box Office Opening Eyed – Deadline

I watched all four previous movies to get hyped for this, but the trailers just look so bad imo. Current tracking and reviews give it decent odds of being the worst failure in the history of the box office.

Hopefully it has some surprises up its sleeves.

Have you seen the other 4 before?

It was already off to a bad start though, it has the worst reviews in the whole series.

And people generally seemed to dislike the fourth movie.

Yeah I've seen the original trilogy a bunch and I saw crystal skull ~five times in theaters. Plus Indiana Jones and the temple of the forbidden eye is one of my favorite rides.

Fourth movie had some bad elements but mostly it's just a B tier adventure. It became popular to dislike kinda like Avatar but it had decent legs at the box office and similar reviews to temple of doom.

Disney needs Avatar level legs though if it really opens this low.

(Doesn't mean much, but we'll see if it continues....)

Movie Comparison: Elemental (2023) vs. Lightyear (2022) vs. Cars 3 (2017) vs. Toy Story 4 (2019) vs. Incredibles 2 (2018) vs. Finding Dory (2016)

His tweet is just spin imo, otherwise he would have predicted a higher range. $125 million would be disastrous compared to Pixar's other June releases. Pixar's worst opener only being their third worst box office run is not a plot twist.

I'm hopeful that Elemental has not significantly tarnished the brand. Just like Cars 3, Pixar can come back from this with a box office hit. I like Elio's trailer but everyone else seems to hate it though  :P

wonder if this points to the Indiana jones Xbox exclusive flopping to.  like,.. is the movie really this bad or does the world just not care about this franchise anymore.

Honestly was Indiana jones really that good anyway. Like they are decent movies but I personally have never said yeah these movies are amazing. I don't really know anyone that thinks they are that great. Especially to warrant 5 movies

The first has plenty of fans and plenty of people would put it as one of the best movies ever. The third has almost as many fans.

I feel like the fourth movie lost a lot of faith in the franchise. Lowest rated by fans, and I doubt fans were eager to see another one.

Well temple of doom is a lot less great, but yes.

Third Sunday:
Elemental: $4,378,149
Light Year: $1,927,950
Cars 3: $2,899,125

Almost did both combined!  It's holding on!
