Seems like they're having a very big party

You either have to miss out on the conversation or miss out on the discovery aspect of games, or you have to hope that people are deliberate enough to tell you what's in a spoiler without actually spoiling things.

Someone says up front that they're so many hours into the game, that might be good because then if you're that far too, you can feel confident that you're not going to get spoiled.

But a lot of people don't do that.
not sure what could be done about this..

movies is easy.  either you watched it or not.

shows is mostly easy.  state which season/episode your on.

the key to those is everyone has the same experience in the same amount of time.

with games everyone gets their own experience. nothing to standardize on no way to discuss with out risk of spoilers.

btw.  GoW:R ends with kratos ordering a happy meal from McDonald's.  worst. ending. ever.

Santa Monica really wanted to make sure people weren't spoiled on this game.

Edit, experience spoilers here:
Spoiler for Hidden:
A large chunk of the announcement trailer are from within an hour of the start of the game.<br>I think all of the Gameinformer footage are from within the first few hours.<br><br>

An actual spoiler here:

Spoiler for Hidden:
I think the only kind of a complaint I would make, and I wouldn&#39;t say it is affecting my experience. It&#39;s not much of a complaint.<br><br>It feels like the game is overly eager to get you to the next area. The characters will comment a lot on stuff. &quot;I think this way is a good way to go.&quot;<br>It sometimes feels like before you&#39;ve even looked at a &quot;puzzle&quot;, Atreus will suggest some hints. (I wouldn&#39;t exactly call some of these things puzzles, so I&#39;m using that loosely)<br><br>It doesn&#39;t particularly bother me, but there have been a few times, where I felt like I could understand this bothering someone.<br><br>

Sorry that first spoiler tag should have been tagged better.

Yep I agree with that second spoiler. Its rather odd, but it is what it is

Horizon

About 15 hours in. It's my GOTY. The game so far constantly changes up things and keeps things fresh.

okay, here's my status update.

I've played more.  like 3 nights now.

progression spoiler:
Spoiler for Hidden:
I&#39;ve reached the mines and entered the cave.&nbsp; I did the flume ride cut scene then called it a night. before going in this direction I did all of the side questing I could wrt to the forges/whale

so like,.. it still has rough edges that make it feel like it is a PS4 game from the technical perspective.  ...but I'm kind of not caring as much because iterative or not it's really fun and engaging.

my main complaint right now is I wish I could increase kratos's turning speed.  I looked for an option to do so and couldn't find one.  I feel like this is a thing I did in the original but maybe I'm just mixing up games.

I'll add this,..  GoW is definitely better than eldin ring.

I've never been one to champion difficulty settings in from software games but I gotta say,.. accessibility options make a game better not worse.   getting invaded literally every ten minutes is utter BS and I just can't bring myself back to this game when progression is such a ducking chore.

Game keeps getting better and better. Constantly surprising you in new ways whether that's through story beats, new enemy types or locations. You guys are in for a real treat. Art direction is outstanding. Combat really flows and has lots of depth the further you go.

well fudge my wife.

she went on a vacation with her friends and came home with covid.  she's now isolating in the area that has my PS5 so I guess I'm not playing GoW for another week.

Not worth it.  Shes watching netflix on it so i'd need to pass here the ps4. Too much effort for a week of isolation.

I'm only like 7 hours in I think?

Nothing surprising in the first spoiler tag for anyone who has played like an hour of the game. Some real and minor spoilers in the second tag.
Spoiler for Hidden:
<br>I feel like this game has an insane amount of dialogue for a linear game.<br>Someone will comment on like most &quot;puzzles&quot; it seems like. Letting you know whether you&#39;re on the right track, letting you know if you can&#39;t do the puzzle right now.<br><br>Characters will have conversations based on just all kinds of things.<br><br>

Spoiler for Hidden:
Tyr and Atreus have like a full conversation based on Kratos going exploring. Not actual dialogue but:<br><br>&quot;Where are you going&quot;<br>&quot;he likes to explore&quot;<br>&quot;ah inquisitive mind, fair enough&quot;<br><br>&quot;Where are you going now?&quot;<br>&quot;Oh another chest over there&quot;<br><br>

Absolutely jam packed.
