PS5 does seem to load BC games faster than Series X for the vast majority of games.

Resuming from rest on the PS5 is still a bit slower but if you turn off the log in screen its still quite fast and can be improved. PS5 also has very fast loading into a game by using cards to jump straight into a part of the game you want, which almost rivals quick resume.
Wait how did they measure wrong?

Depends if you include full cold boot of game vs main menu to in game load. People are getting different results.

Although it might be that the comparison I just saw was inconsistent.

Which games could people talk about?

Don't see any BC games that they couldn't talk about.
Between digital foundry and other outlets, there's been dozens of games talked about.

Seems like a good summary of the review sentiment. EZA were saying the same on their newest podcast, PS5 really does feel like a leap forward, new and fresh, while XSX feels like a better XB1X and that's all.

Yes, plus revolutionary controller and actual new games

Big cons seem to be:
- HDMI 2.1 features missing: VRR, 8K, ALLM
- storage + folder options
= No quick resume option

I expect the first to be in a day 1 update.
Second maybe soon after.
Third who knows.

it is odd that folders got axed but honestly I didn't use them.

I feel like they has to be a more elegant solution to the problem than making me manage folders.

Yup I only ever used them to make junk folders, and PS5 doesn't have that issue since media is on the second screen.

Well yeah those are two of the biggest reasons for PS5 being new and fresh.

Well ps5 is much more organized with the separation of media and the control centre. The library seems much better and more useful than PS4 for sorting and finding your games.

i mean, that's exactly what i mean.   folders was a big request on ps4 because people felt like they needed them.  i feel like the better solution is to make people feel like they don't need them.

On ps4 afaik these were the reasons people wanted folders:

1. too much undeletable crud
  - i have one folder for web browser, capture gallery, live from playstation, playstation video, media player, playstation now
 - some of that will move to the media section.  some of this crud should be deletable (aka playstation now)
 - i'm going to give sony some faith and assume this concern is addressed

2. external HDD support means i've downloaded 4 Tb of games and now my games bar is "never ending"
 - personally i never did the external HDD so this wasn't a problem for me but i can see how a bar that's 400 games long would be annoying
 - i'm not sure exactly how this is going to work in practice but the "bar" doesn't look like it supports originazation methods beyond "recent" activity
 - but the "library" looks much improved so maybe this is their solution
 - i'm going to say "maybe" this concern is addressed.

so yeah, maybe folders just aren't needed anymore.  i'm hoping that's the reason they excluded them.  i'd really like to believe they solved the problems and didn't just decide to kill a feature without offering solutions.   they will get a lot of whining from the guys that hook up their 4 Tb HDD on day 1 if that use case hasn't been addressed.

No 3D is a bumber. I'll need to keep a ps4 hooked up until that is hopefully patched.
